these arguments that I see are ridiculous. 30,000 horses is a miniscule number of animals on the open range, causing miniscule damage.

BTW...you live in NH , where do you get the sense of scope of an open range?

well I grew up right outside the turf of one of this wild horse herds, and trust me I have an idea of "open range"
For the ignorant out there:
This isn't a heard of 30,000 wild horses. This is several small heards, that migrate in accordance with food source. They are no threat, other then to the turf of "open range" ranching. If you want to actually take the time to read some of the statistics that I posted earlier, this is a movement to KEEP THE DIEING CATTLE INDUSTRY alive. NOTHING MORE.
As for deer hunting, yea I know how to do it, I do it, I'm getting some freshly bow hunted meat in the mail from my friends father in a month.
If you want to hear my attitude on this subject:
IF YOU SUPPORT IT, GO TO WYOMING, SOUTH DAKOTA, AND MONTANA AND LOOK FOR YOURSELF TO SEE WHAT LITTLE THREAT THESE HERDS POSE TO ANYTHING OTHER THEN CATTLE PROFITS.

i agree. having grown up in rural colorado and living next to a herd on thunder mountain, i had a definite sense of how much open range there is. 30,000 horses really aren't that many. and yeah, it's not one big fucking herd. if you know anything about horses, that's just a stupid assumption to make. there are millions of people living in this country, and we still haven't managed to swarm all over the place like locusts. or cattle ranches.
