With the Clinton Presidential Library openning today in Little Rock, what do you think was more important? His economic accomplishments, international accomplishments or the scandals?

I think the scandals are a footnote. I think overall he was a good president & served us as well as he could.

Can you remeber his bombing of Iraq on the eve of the House impeachment debate? Remeber the Sudanese pharmaceutical plant? That was kind of dumb.

The same person who is gullible enough to trust a person like Linda Tripp.

Yeah but if I remember right in Feb of 2000 bush decided to do some more bombing of Iraqi military instilations...

I think dumping a load is less of a sin than sending over 1000 us servicemen to die without any real justification.

His accomplishments in office are obviously more important but the scandal will always be more memorable.

I actually met Mr. Clinton in the airport in New York. He was a nice guy.

What would the secret service do if all the ex-presidents got in a big fight and started whaling on each other?

Wikipedia Says:
In the United States, the Presidential library system is a nationwide network of libraries administered by the Office of Presidential Libraries, which is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). These are not traditional libraries, but rather repositories for preserving and making available the papers, records, and other historical materials of every President of the United States since Herbert Hoover.

Oh please. Clinton isn't to blame for "globalisation".

If you mean NAFTA, I'd have a look at (ardent liberal and anti-Bushie) economist Brad DeLong's take on it:

1. The Great Sucking Sound.

2. A view from 2000.

The truth of the matter is that the level of employment in the U.S. is much, much more the result of decisions made by the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee in Washington, rather than changes in trade with Mexico.

They asked a question like this on the McLaughlin group last weekend. Someone answered that his presidency was the beginning of the political/cultural split among Americans that we' have seen so much of lately. It obviously wasn't him alone, Newt and his cronies had just as much (if not more) to do with it. I dunno... whatever

I dunno, Carter is ex-navy and spent all those years farming and building houses. I bet he's got game. H.W. seems a bit soft and complacent. He's always had others do his dirty work.
