"I served 20 years in the Ohio General Assembly as Republican. People have asked me why I oppose George W. Bush for president. My first response is, 'He is incompetent.' His behavior, his bad judgment, his record, all demonstrate a failure as president. He certainly misled the country into a no-win war in Iraq. Following his preemptive invasion, he totally misjudged the consequences of his action. He made a bad situation worse, fomenting widespread terrorism, all done with a frightful loss of lives and money."
-- Former Ohio State Representative John Galbraith, a Republican legislator for 20 years, endorsing Kerry in a letter to The Toledo Blade, September 28, 2004.
You know, every time someone posts something anti-Bush from what is traditionally viewed as a conservative source, Stockula jumps in to say "They aren't real conservatives.. everyone knows that..."
So tell me, Stock, who are the real conservative writers and publishers that DO have their "finger on the pulse of American conservatism"?

Yep, when I want to read articles by people who have their finger on the pulse of American conservatism, the FIRST place I look is in The Nation.
"Yes, I'll have the red herring, with a side order of freedom fries..."

I've got 4 members of my family who are lifetime GOP, 3 of whom are/have been active participants in the party infrastructure.
Guess what? They're all voting for Kerry - because Bush isn't conservative, he's about 1 degree shy of fascist.

Actually, he endorsed Bush on the McLaughlin Group just last week. He despises Bush, but I think he'd rather drop dead than endorse a Democrat. The managing editor of his magazine endorsed Kerry, which might be where you got that idea.
