That is laughable...kittens , unlike the French, have claws.

Two questions Pauillac,

1) Is he on the racism level of Le Pen?
2) How much is he supported compared to Le Pen?

1) Probably not.
2) As a third (fourth?) party candidate he received very limited support. I wonder how much support he would receive if he was one of two options for President - say Buchanan vs Hilary Clinton?

Pat Buchanan would never be a serious candidate for the Presidency against any opponent (including Hilary) because we Americans really don't like to mix our politics with religion during elections. Just ask Jesse Jackon or Al Sharpton.

Is it really important that these assailants were from france? What difference does that make? The fact is they are people who have very wrong attitudes and should be educated accordingly.

Sorry to say, but the French have a strong history of passive-agressive anti-Semitism. They rarely start the big fights, but like a whiny weasel they are always there as a nation to cheer on any major group that is outwardly anti-Semetic or anti-Israel. It's simply a historical fact.

Does that mean all the French are anti-Semitic? Nope. But their government is filled with pro-Muslim/anti-Semitic loons. And anyone remember when that loon Jean-Marie Le Pen (Front Nationale) almost made it to the ballot in French elections a few years back? And how about all those attacks against synagogues in Europe? Why, most of them happened in France.

Mentioning the nationality of the pricks who did this is entirely valid. It's a reflection on French society in general that these asses can not only feel comfortable in their anti-Semetism, but they have the BALLS to go to Auschwitz and act like that.

I don't think all Sudanese are genocidal loons, but it's obvious the atmosphere of the leadership there is allowing genocide to occur.

In this case, the one place on earth Jews should be given unquestionable respect and these fucking kids act like dicks. And they wonder why they are hated.

Said it before, I'll say it again. Fuck the French.

oh yeah fuck me.
biggrin

Le Pen was not almost elected because of jewish people but because of arab people in France.
Le Pen dislike the jewish people, that's true (like david duke... who is not french) but he hates arab people.

There are a lot of attacks against synagogues in France but there are also lots of attacks against mosquees too.

I have to say too, antisemitic attacks are mostly due to young people issued from immigration. They did not do a difference between Israel and Jewish people.
You have to understand it is not the same in France and in USA. You have places for italians, places for jewish people. In France we are all mixep up.

We have to deal with two things : WW2 and our colonialist past. We dealed with WW2 and made our mea culpa. We did not the same with Algeria. Our young population came from Algeria as problems with that. They said "You only apologize for Shoa and never for Algeria". It is true but they forget the guilty is the government and not our

Michael_J_Totten : oh yes Le Pen hates jewish people. He spoke "gaz rooms were a detail oh the History". A friend of him is just saying right now (2 weeks ago) maybe we can say gaz rooms are a lie".

Maybe you don't know but in France it is absolutly forbidden to tell "gaz rooms haven't exist" It is punished by law.

Look at Le Pen and the Front National. Is there any real equivalent to that running on the presidential ticket in the U.S.? And why is it that people simply want to defuse and downplay the anti-Semitism that exists in France? And downplay the fact that 3 French punks went all the way to Poland to disrespect Jews at Auschwitz?

No because we don't have the same definition as extreme right in France and USA. For us, extreme right is Bush for example.
Things Bush can say will be considered in France as racists thoughts.
That's why Stockula can consider my president as a commie ; for me he is a hard republican.
It is true Le Pen hates american people (except David Duke again, who is a friend of Le Pen).

You judge my country with american eyes wich is normal. But maybe you have to learn a little before talking.

So why Le Pen can almost being our president ?
We have, as all countries, a problem in our poor suburbs. During the campaign, all TV show us young arab people who commit rapes, murders and so on. Lots of people thought the enemy was on our door smile and vote Le Pen.
The socialists did not want to deal with insecurity : it was a big mistake.

As for past French history and the Vichy government, yeah France "fought" the Nazi's prior to Vichy. They fought them so pathetically and with no real spine that jokes about France caving in like a bunch of babies have been around for years. Yeah, they "fought" as hard as a frightened kitten. And if that was not bad enough, when they formed the Vichy regime. A regime so cooperative to the Nazis that it basically counteracts any claims of the French "valiantly fighting". They were a bunch of pussies who could not defend their country

You don't tell the end of story. De Gaulle and many people organized Resistance against Vichy and Hitler. Lots of people saved jewish people ; we call them "the Justs". Lots of french people came in concentration camps for that (as my father I have to say).
You are right to show what Vichy is. I can even tell Vichy just not obey to Nazis. When Nazis ask for jewish adults, Vichy gave the babies too.

But you have to speak about Resistance too.
You insult all the resistants which fight against Nazis, who lost their life.

=====================
Maybe, I can explain some situations in France because I see you don't understand them as I can understand them.
But if the only thought against France is fuck, antisemitism or racism we can not discuss peacefully smile.

Don't worry about the "We hate France" brigade on here. They're just pissed off that the French turned out to be completely right about Iraq not having WMD's or being a terrorist threat.

Good luck. Short of Jacques Chirac endorsing George W. Bush for president I don't think you'll see much mind-changing going on in that set.

Oh, welcome back to the boards, by the way. It's been a while since I've seen you here in CE.

Uptight : you forget (I know it is a forgetting) christian graves have been destroyed too.

Maybe you don't know the place where it arrived. Alsace is the only place in France where the law for laicite doesn't exist (because of the war with Germany ; it is hard to explain).
So we can see christian events in school.
during the last years, government decide to change this because lots of jews and lot of muslims live in Alsace. So there are muslim and jewish events in school.
Some stupid christian neo nazis were angry with that.

another fact.
neo nazis concerts are forbidden in France, except in Alsace. They often have meetings in France with german and belgic neo nazis. That"s why there are a lot of graves which are destroyed in this place.

I don't know what governement wants to do. Maybe it will forbid neo nazis meetings in Alsace. I know it is not forbidden in USA but we have not the same idea of freedom speech in France smile.

Hope you can understand what I say smile
