find me a news station that's actually 100% fair and balanced.
yes, fox news is very far right. no, there's nothing wrong with that.
I object to most everything Moore's done, but I'm not gonna ask him to label his movies because that's how my friends and I feel; I'm simply not going to support him.
when all of you have your own tv stations, perhaps you can do things differently; the answer to objecting to Fox, though, is not to watch it.
no one is petitioning fox to change their content; in fact, in the complaint, moveon specifically makes a point of saying that they completely support their right to broadcast far right opinions.
the objection is over how fox advertises itself, which they say (and i agree with) is intentionally deceptive.
michael moore is the first to admit that he's biased in favor of the liberal end of the political spectrum. when you watch his movies, there is no misunderstanding what it's all about. that's the difference.

I think people misunderstand the "Fair and Balanced" slogan. It may be due to Fox's blatant misrepresentation of it, but it should be an individuals choice on whether to believe it or not. But I believe that appropriate meaning of Fair and Balanced is that Fox now offers a perspective from the other side of things which is a contrast to all other major news organizations, thus creating a balance in the industry and creating a view from all angles letting everyone choose their own opinion fairly. Obviously no one station is Fair and Balanced in the area of political reporting, but put all the stations together and you now can view all sides and pick what you wnat to believe.
that's not what "fair and balanced" means. "fair and balanced" is a motto originally used by journalists as a guide for how to present news objectively. fox took the slogan and uses it advertising, with the intent to evoke an image of the objective journalist, while broadcasting skewed reporting. whether or not you agree with their skew is one thing. for it to advertise itself as objective, when it's clearly not their goal to be objective, is deception.
yes, fox "balances" other perspectives by offering a far right alternative, but that doesn't make them any more balanced than the pravda offered a fair and balanced perspective in the soviet union. both are propaganda, not news.
