What I find funny is Kerry winning is not going to piss off nearly as many people on the right as it would piss people off on the left if Bush were to win.

I cannot wait to see Bush win and then watch the riots on TV as LA burns to the ground.

I'm glad to see that conservatives really "love America." Wishing to watch one of the largest cities in your country burn down. If that's not patriotism then I don't know what is. whatever

It just makes me laugh out loud when people are convinced that Bush winning will start a second civil war. I mean seriously folks. Are you gonna take arms up againt your neighbors just becasue they are republicans?

the world will still spin. People will still hate republicans.

And Hillary will start campaning.

I think you misunderestimate the level of sheer rage people like myself feel with the increasing civil liberties that are being taken away from us under the guise of "Homeland Security". I do feel strongly enough about these issues to act violently in an effort to protect my rights. Period. If that means hand to hand battle against people who do not share this point of view so be it!! mad

I will laugh, go out, get drunk, talk non-sense with friends until last-call, go back home, curl up in a fetus position and hope everything in the next four years goes really fucking bad, just to see if Americans who voted for Bush can still look at themselves in the mirror. I just can't believe nearly half of the voters in the US are still supporting Bush. surreal

What's especially funny is that the republicans are the ones with the guns tongue

Would be an awfully one sided civil war.

I think you understimate the ability and willingness of the radical, revolutionary left to arm itself. The ruling group always thinks it has all the power until the revolution starts. And make no mistake since what used to be left is now considered moderate, the right is the ruling group. The whole damn country is slowly sliding towards fascism.

No, I think it's just sliding away from socialism. Imagine that, a federal republic based on decentralized authority rejecting central authority.

Since it is the federal government eroding our civil liberties I fail to see how we are rejecting central authority. My concerns have little to do with economics which is the primary area that socialism concerns. I am more concerned with the fact that we are expected to give up our liberty in consideration of our security. I really think this says it better than I ever could:

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

1) await my SO's decision on re-upping, then make arrangements accordingly.

2) i think we may end up living on my disability for a while, and try to find a way not to return to the US

According to a newspaper I saw earlier, he is winning. 51% in his favor.
I know people around here hate him, but for him to be winning in votes, that says something too. surreal

That doesn't really mean anything, Kerry still has two months to win votes...unless he fucks up. But it's still very scary that Bush is leading in the preliminary polls.

Most right wing nuts I know own 30-50 guns. Some of them fully automatic and silenced. Plus thousands of rounds of ammo.

Liberals are finally understanding the political significance of gun ownership. I guess that's good thing, but I am happy they are finally learning the lesson so late.
