It is a shame that John Kerry, as dull and illiberal as he is, is the only alternative to George W. Bush, but in your constitutionally protected two-party system, that is the case. At least he's not a nationalist.

I'm not sure if that was just a comment on the poor state our election system is in or if you think that is the reason we have 2 parties.
The united states constitution purposefully did not define political parties in any way with the idea that if they were purposefully undefined, no one party could change the rules if in power.
Part of the reason the system is in the current state it is in now is because that undefined quality allowed 2 parties to build power off of each other until they were both unstoppable political warmachines that any other party would be a fool to think that they could stand against for quite some time.
There actually was a time during US history between the end of the war of 1812 and the beginnings of the political polarization of US slavery that the United states only had one political party aptly named The Democratic-Republicans
It's even more complicated than I describe as you can imagine any political party system is, but these are just some of the key points.
I guess I rambled, but the point is the US does not have a definition of political party in the constitution.

Kinda like lumping all conservatives in with Bush, huh?
I don't worry too much about right-wingers, they've been on a losing streak since the American Revolution. -Back then they supported the English-. Luckily the bane of the American Right came to the Revolutionaries aid... the French

I appreciate all the insanity in this post, but you're talking to the guy (Sadistic_Bastard) who started the SG Conservatives group.

Really ?!?!? Fuck that's crazy! I can't believe people really can be that uptight and selfish... Because that's all Conservatives are: socially uptight and economically selfish, that's without gettting into all of the reason why Conservatives politics is the politics of failure and affirmative action. Just look at Bush, the best example of affirmative action around.
