Well, it's May Day, so there are bound to be organized marches and protests in support of workers' rights.
In fact, Shal just told me there are several Occupy-related walk-outs with "Day without the 99%" being the theme. I think that's a little optimistic, and if you're framing it as a day without the 99%, you're likely to make it seem like a day without the 99% would be an ordinary day, since the vast majority of 99%ers aren't going to be participating, and will be going about their business as usual. But whatever floats their collective boat.

wow, do people really not know about May day?
I know plenty of people who know about the protest.
See, this is what I meant when I asked the question. I
May Day is more than "the protest." It's been International Worker's Day for about a century.
And I had never heard of that. I don't know why. But I hadn't. Now I have.
I hadn't heard of it either. Mostly we just hung baskets on doorknobs, knocked, then ran.
You had never heard about it because in the US it has been intentionally ignored/ hidden so that US workers wouldn't get all riled and demand to be treated like human beings. Because obviously that would be communism.
Occupy Oakland, for some reason, organized a rally in a park two blocks from my house in San Francisco's Mission District. They decided to riot in my neighborhood and smash cars and restaurants for a 4 block stretch before the police could get it under control. Really pretty stupid. Of all of the neighborhoods in SF, mine is known for being family run, independent businesses and not big corps and chains. Really sad, senseless mayhem tonight.
^Shitheads. Well smashing up peoples cars and businesses is a really quick way to lose support among the community (assuming it was ever there to begin with) and undermine the validity of the movement. Granted, they've always been considered a bit of a more radical outlier, but to go into someone else's town and wreak havoc, no bueno...

Proof that some of those kids don't know shit but think they do.
It would be good to know how many of the black clad, masked anarchist's who chose to usurp the Occupy mantle and riot in the ''Mission'' were in fact members of the Oakland PD and or FBI.

I suppose it's possible, but I'm more inclined to believe that it was just some overly zealous anarchists or opportunists. The behavior certainly doesn't chime with most of Occupy and deploying undercover provocateurs is not unknown among police tactics.
Still, Occupy Oakland sanitized their site following their call to join the "ruckus" turned violent so I'm thinking there may have been a more then just a few bad eggs in the bunch (the videos I saw certainly didn't seem to imply that the group were trying to distance themselves from the vandalism, but were whooping it up). From what I understand, a "black bloc" group splintered off after the initial, peaceful, gathering and went out on their own to engage in this stupid and pointless criminal activity. I'm kind of surprised that only one person was arrested (or at least that's what was reported), but maybe the police decided to let them go on their little rampage...
