Pretty good session. He definitely stuck up for himself and used actual facts to beat back some of the political talking points being thrown at him. Now it's just a matter of seeing if anything changes going forward. There's been a lot of talk of bi-partisan action (I'd really like to see some fucking NONpartisan action) for years...and then instead we get the usual demonization of conservatives as owned by corporations and liberals as limp ineffectual hippies. anyway...worth a watch.
I'm in the middle of the first clip and it just got GOOD. "I assume you're not faulting my administration for that". OH MY FUCKING FUCK!!!
That was pretty outstanding. And I have to say that motivations aside, it's refreshing to watch a president dispute things face to face, rather than in dueling press conferences.
It really is. Without the reporter's as the go-betweens it's like he can really let loose.
It would be even more pathetic if they weren't always so painfully obvious. Hopefully they'll get called out on this garbage too.
out of the entire hour+ of Q&A, they managed to construct eight points where Obama's "rhetoric" didn't match the GOP's version of reality?
i have to admit, i'm actually more irked by the complete web design fale on that page than i am its content.
Yeah, the design could be better, too. This goes further to show that they have nothing substantial to bring to the table. When they rely on phrases like "government takeover of health care" in reference a bill that contains numerous republican amendments, they clearly have little in terms of actual policy to offer.
I say, don't bother inviting them when making policy. They don't plan on helping, so FUCK them.
Alright, I watched it. This felt like the Obama I voted for. Every single issue he broke down, analyzed, and then asserted his, to me, perfectly reasonable conclusion. That's why I wanted him elected - he's a great speaker, sure, but more than that he's a great thinker.
It seems like this is the kind of discussion he does when he feels the audience is informed. I wish he'd use this tone more often.
