You're right on one point, I don't respect him as a person, much less as a president. There's a lot of people I don't respect, because they are not deserving of it. Just because he lied and scammed his way to the top, then almost completely destroyed our economy and our standing in the world, does not earn automatic respect from me. Sorry if I have some standards for what and who I will respect.

Exactly. I respect people who deserve my respect, whether or not I agree with them. I admit that there are relatively few conservatives that I respect, but that's because I have encountered very few that can clearly and cogently support their positions. (And, Republican-politician-wise, very few that have displayed any sort of personal or professional integrity.)
Bush would certainly not be one of them, being an enormous failure as both a man and a politician, and the architect of a great deal of this country's present misery.
