I used to be a real misanthrope. Then I decided that I would take eveyone at their word. There has got to be a happy balance between the two. frown

Has anyone considered the possibility that maybe this woman is just really really really clumsy?

As a great man once said, pretending to be incapable of harming yourself is your ticket to fabulous cash and prizes.

I really can't imagine that someone would be "trampled" anyway. That's just ridiculous.

I can imagine that unfortunately. Remember tickle me Elmo? People are insane when it comes to holiday shopping. But this woman is obviously full of crap.

Despite the latest revelations about these events, it still does nothing to alleviate the awful way Walmart handled the situation . Asking her to return as a customer and putting the dvd player on hold? wtf?

Or Canada perhaps. We can give it to them with the best service in the world and I guarantee they won't even leave a tip.

No kidding. If you were the store director of that particular Walmart, or a member of the Walmart Board of Directors, how would you have handled it. Of course, Walmart does have a history of bad business practices (only paying their workers $7.50 an hour with the exception of management; having workers clock out and then continue to work with no paid overtime; and finally, the good one, their insurance benefit has a $1,000 deductable, which is great if you have a coronary.)

And people wonder why I never shop Walmart.

That place makes me afraid to have children.

Hey, I just broke a nail typing that last line. I'm gonna sue this website.

Boy, oh, boy that lady sure slips and falls a lot. Maybe she needs to sue whoever makes her shoes...

...or maybe her claims are all a bunch of grade-A malarky!

I was pretty appalled myself. But to give you an idea of how cold blooded Wal-Mart can be, let me tell you a little story about something I disovered today.

This winter there are birds living in our store. It's toasty warm in there and about five or six sparrows decided to make a home for themselves in the rafters in Recieving. Every now and again they would fly out onto the sales floor and perch in the ceiling, but it was mostly too noisy and bright for them to tolerate, so they stayed in the back. It was cool. You could hear them chirping from my department. Really made the X-Mas shopping season just a little more bearable. Yes, the job sucks and the store sucks and the company sucks, but at least those little birdies have a nice warm place to stay for the winter.

Today I found out our store manager has ordered them to be killed because - as he put it - "what are you going to say to a customer when a bird shits on them?".

They have been laying down cardboard with glue and birdseed on it so the little birdies get stuck to them and die. mad

When I quit this job I am never shopping at Wal-Mart again.

To all of you who wished declining sales, I can do nothing but agree. But I must also tell you that my department alone - just in my store - had a one million dollar increase in sales last year. They expect another million this year.

Don't feed the beast! It kills innocent birdies!

Not just that, but it was discovered that Walmart was deliberately deceptive in how many of its sale items it had in stock.

While I don't support this money-grubbing whore, I hope somebody sticks it to Walmart. That's just unforgivable.
