On Sunday, conservative media barnacle and McCain campaign relic Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher took time out of his new job as a war correspondent for Pajamas TV to tell the very people who were filming him that they shouldn't be allowed to cover war:
"I'll be honest with you: I don't think journalists should be anywhere allowed war. (sic) I mean, you guys report where our troops are at. You report what's happening day to day. You make a big deal out of it. I think it's asinine. You know, I liked back in World War I and World War II when you'd go to the theater and you'd see your troops on, you know, the screen and everyone would be real excited and happy for 'em.
Now everyone's got an opinion and wants to...down soldiers. You know, American soldiers or Israeli soldiers...I think media should be abolished from, uh, you know, reporting. You know, war is hell. And if you're gonna sit there and say, 'Well, look at this atrocity,' well, you don't know the whole story behind it half the time. So I think the media should have no business in it."
I have put at least four or five minutes of thought into this and I really can not determine who is behind keeping this asshat in the news. Does it come from the left or the right? Is it The Onion? The Daily Show? It's like what Lenin said, you look for the person who will benefit and, uh, uh... You know what I'm trying to say.
if you're gonna sit there and say, 'well, look at this second thread on the same topic,' well, you don't know the whole story behind it half the time. so I think the posters should have no business in it.

If you shave your head and grow a goatee, I'm leaving.

*wipes tears from eyes*
(Well that didn't take very long)
He does have a point (which he clearly misses and doesn't understand). The main problem of reporting news live is that often the reporters really don't know what really is happening at the time so we the viewer have to trust their judgment and interpretation of what just happened.
This is one reason why the Bush administration used embedded reporters since it A. made the news agency's happy to be able to report on the field, B. makes it easier to control the message since the reporters will grow attached to the soldiers and objectivity is lost while also making it so that the reporters don't see the bigger picture and C. makes the civilian population happy since they feel like they are on the front lines with the troops in the safety of their home while not getting any real news.
Journalism and the news has really sunken low now that they are on 24 hour stations since they are now more about gaining ratings then doing hard news. Don't even get me started on most of the hosts.
