I think we're in a golden age of TV right now, with many of the great stories of our time being acted out on ye olde boobe tube.
I'm at the point where I rarely go to the movies anymore. Only two hours to tell a story and develop a cast of characters? Hah.
I really have to agree. There seems to be some fine pickings these days.

Yeah, I've never watched an episode of Will and Grace. Other than PBS, I really don't bother with TV.
So, let them strike . . . there is enough archived PBS material to last me until TV writers come up with an original idea . . . 
PBS is awesome and all, but s5 is right. You're missing out on some truly extraordinary storytelling.
