They asked you to document non-existent registration (non-existent for most states and non-existent per federal law)?
They asked you to document firearms that were not owned by you?
Er, did you read the other 62 questions? This is not a security clearance questionnaire. Those are, believe it or not, far more extensive. What this is, is an attempt to identify issues that derail Senate confirmation. This document is only for candidates who have to go before congress and answer anything asked of them under oath to get the job. If you're squeamish about intrusion this is not the line of work for you.
If your kid is a dope dealer, the will find out.
If you hide your assets from your ex wife, they will find out.
If you have a "wide stance" and like to fuck in Men's rooms, they will find out.
The gun question was no more intrusive than the rest, and was asked for the same reason. The NRA is just leveraging it to drum up donations and support to lobby a hostile congress and administration. Grow up and move on.
