As an aside, in response to all this Snopesing and whatnot, I myself don't really care if any of these are fake so long as they give me reason to feel superior to someone else. That's really all I'm concerned about.

Hey, Necia, I noticed Utah is #49. Does that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside? Because it makes me feel that way.
After 8 years in CT, I do admit that despite the horrible time I had there socially, the schools were quite good, not very test-oriented, and had helpful teachers who seemed to like their jobs (perhaps they were compensated reasonably, instead of living barely above the poverty line).
I'm quite proud that MN is #11. I wish it was higher, but MPLS public schools need a fucking makeover.
We're only #11 because they're judging the entire state. If they broke it down by metro area, it's widely known that Minneapolis-St. Paul is the smartest place in the country.

I don't know about that. The description of the local group for Minneapoolis-St. Paul isn't any more welcoming than any hand-painted "NO TRESSPASSING" signs I've seen in hardcore red-neck rural areas.

Who says you have to be nice to be smart?
I definitely enjoy the lack of stupid n00bs in that group. A good dose of anal-rape seems to encourage people to avoid spamming us with "O HAI! I'S NEW! LOL!!1!"

Indeed. I'm definitely Not Nice. I do like to think, however, that I'm smarter than the average bear.

No n00bs is good n00bs?
The deserving n00bs get in. Anal rape ensues. All is well.

Yeah, cuz the only intelligent way to deal with that is by opening with "Ok, here are the fuckin' rules..." (paraphrase.)

Wow, another %100 bogus thread with bullshit information by a %100 troll that's still unlocked. How unusual.
Yeah, SergeantPsycho is a surprisingly effective troll because he's crafted this sort of well meaning, "ain't it a shame" persona in which he feigns innocence at how the liberal members here will react to his posts. Stockula or albion/uptight/whatever are lousy trolls because everyone knows that they have no interest in the truth or impartiality, but, like McCain, SergeantPsycho has some lefties thinking "Aw, he's one of the decent ones."
Also, isn't it weird how young conservatives so often look like young conservatives? Is there a memo or something that gets passed around? "Though shalt wear a suit jacket even for casual dress."

I thought the only given was the bow-tie. Otherwise, an awful lot of young hipsters are apparently Repubs incognito.

Yeah, I rock a blue blazer like 80% of the time.
I don't know how to articulate it, but have you not found it possible to predict the political opinions of most people under 30 based only on their appearance?

I live in San Francisco. I can predict the political opinions of everyone based only on their appearance.
