This is the first time in my life that there is not a Bush or Clinton in the White House- counting the VP. If this is what it takes to satisfy the Clinton Camp, so be it.

What interests me more is who will replace her.

I'm betting on Nita Lowey.

Really? I'm personally betting on RFK Jr. At least, I hope so, I love that guy smile

That would be cool, but there is the matter of decorum, and replacing a woman with a white male would be unseemly. Besides, we'll need him as head of the EPA.
biggrin

I've always liked Hillary (except for her primary campaign after Super Tuesday, which was disgraceful), so yay. I think she's smart and capable, and it's clear to me that she along with everyone else in Obama's cabinet will be implementing policy set at the top by Obama. She'll also be a good sparring partner for him, challenging his ideas when needed, but mostly being on board with his philosophy about our place in the world. I'm all for it.

I know people think she should be leading the charge for universal health care, but I think that's an easy battle at this point. There's a broad consensus on what health care policy should look like, and no opposition worth taking seriously. (By which I mean, everyone in government and in the insurance industry are on board, with the only opposition being the politically irrelevant free market wing of the Republican party. And who cares what they think; they already had their chance and they fucked the country up.) There's not going to be much for her to do as a Senator past March.

I agree.

I'm torn between the two. He would be fantastic as EPA chief and as a senator. I just hope he gets one or the other.

Bubba.

ok, Schumer probably wouldn't go for that.
