I think there was another thread more recently active about this particular race, but I can't find it offhand.
There are still some formalities to go through, but Franken's ahead by 225 or so at this point and there doesn't look to be any reasonable way Coleman could make that lead back. I.e., Franken hasn't won yet but it's pretty much in the bag.
Hey you may have been paying more attention, is there any proof of this so-called double counting the Republicans are throwing a shit fit about? Or are they grasping at straws?
The double-counting challenge that they threw up to the Minny Supes was thrown out specifically because they had no proof.
That doesn't mean it won't be an issue once the post-certification challenge is heard, but for now there's nothing there.
Nate Silver pointed out that even if every single vote for Franken that was supposedly double-counted were to be thrown out, and if there were no such votes for Coleman, Franken would still win.
Coleman will challenge it, of course. So much for taking the ethical high ground. I guess only his opponents are supposed to concede elections for the benefit of the state and its people.

As said before, it's in the bag.
EDIT
Well, that's a nice new bug. I'll leave it there for people to see, but I edited and used the URL insert option just to be sure that it's the board and not me.
Then:
“The prospects of overcoming 725 votes is extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely remote."
“If you ask me what I would do, I would step back."
“My hope is that we would begin the healing process today.”
Now:
"Something greater than expediency is at stake here. Democracy is not a machine. Sometimes it's messy and inconvenient, and reaching the best conclusion is never quick because speed is not the first objective, fairness is."

Well, he is a politician, after all. I'm pretty sure that now that Franken has the advantage, he wants Coleman to step back and let the healing began.
Let's be frank: Norm Coleman doesn't have much of a future in electoral politics. Defeated Presidential candidates sometimes have nine lives, but defeated Senatorial candidates rarely do, and in his career running for statewide office, Coleman has lost to a professional wrestler, beaten a dead guy, and then tied a comedian.

I'm sure he is, but at least Franken isn't being quite as smug about it as Coleman was. And there's a difference in that the recount was legally mandated, and Franken had no legal right to waive it, which isn't the case with Coleman now.

As for the Wall Street Journal editorial...ugh. The media is already running with it as though its wild claims are indisputable fact.
