I got my voter guide today! My polling place is the Seventh Day Adventist Church School. Is that weird?
Not really. My polling place has always been in a church. It doesn't really bother me; I figure it's a practical matter related to churches being buildings that can safely accommodate large groups of people.
I have a stupid, crushing story. I'm not allowed to vote at this moment and here's why.
I registered to vote in 1994 in NY. This was apparently all I ever needed because I last voted last election in Philadelphia (to no avail! Kerry!).
I honestly figured I'd be good to go now that I'm in Florida and I just found out not only did I have to be seperately registered here but that I would've had to have had FL ID (which I haven't bothered with, I'm only here temporarily).
I'm going to find out tomorrow about a NY absentee ballot because Lord knows no vote is one for the Republicans.
I apologize in advance to people who will think I'm an asshole for assuming I was ok with my registration.
