And yet, you're a strongly opinionated Kiwi never slow to criticize the US on anything.

i think it's because of that whole "rearranging the world like a chess board" mentality that we seem to have.

Because no other country in the world does that at all.

Personally, for the most part I hate hearing Americans talk, period.

That said however:

We're moving the pieces, but British colonialism set up the board. This is in living memory and true for about 60% of the developing world. They don't get a pass.

Americans are astoundingly ignorant of the world around us, but only marginally more so than anyone I've ever met anywhere else in the world. Better to vet opinions on an individual basis than what color your passport is.

Wait a minute, do sense a schism amongst the liberal elite?

Begone, before someone drops a house on you.

It's a human trait to criticize some other groups way of doing things and think your way is better. It's a way of diverting attention from problems at home.

American: "Hey...get rid of the Monarchy. It's rediculous. You only keep it to draw American tourists in"
Brit: "Fuck off wanker! And fuck Bush and your whole system while your at it."

There's tons of problems with both systems but it's easier to criticize someone else's than trying to fix your own.

Technically, given the cost of the monarchy you could save a ton of cash. That's just fact based logic. But if you want them, keep them. But please respect our traditions as well. criticism should never be given if it can't be accepted. That should be the primary rule for it. Not country of origin. Well, half a fucking brain should be the ultimate rule then being fair and accepting logical criticism as well as giving it.

Was the servant who gave him the royal hummer a man or woman? I think this would only be news if Charles was getting head from a woman.

Allegedly a man.

Edited to say:

I am kind of annoyed they haven't got the balls to come out with the allegations in the first place and THEN flat out deny them. The man who says he witnessed the blowjob in question is an ex Royal flunky with a history of mental instability. He has also accused a senior Royal aide of raping him, but a few years back falsely accused another man of rape.
He is not a reliable witness, and if the whole thing had just come out in the first place I think it would have blown over a lot quicker. As it happens, they decided to go with this stupid media gag that only applies to England and Wales. Newspapers in Scotland and Italy have already leaked the story.
Anyway, this is the 21st Century, who cares if he got a BJ off a guy? A couple of hundred years ago his anscestors were burning Catholics and cutting their wives heads off.

Edited again to say:

The story was going to be broken by the Mail on Sunday, but a gagging order was slapped on them by Michael Fawcett, the Royal aide who allegedly fellated Chucky.

I reckon that Gagging Order was exactly how Charles phrased it as he poked his royal pecker down Mr Fawcetts gob. There's probably a lot of Gagging Orders going on at Buckingham Palace. Maybe Michael Fawcett was just inviting the Mail on Sunday to blow him but they misunderstood.

Even when they're right?

That seems like an awfully ignorant statement.
I hope i don't get zotted for saying that - think about how much hostility a member would get if (s)he posted " I hate hearing the British/Canadians/talk about the affairs of any country of their own".

Nic is right. English royalty has an amazing history of well... lots of untoward things. Check out what happened to Edward II...
Personally it should be Chaz giving... He's got those jug handled ears perfect for gripping.

As for Olivia's umbrage... pretty humerous really. Good thing what makes her (or any of our) blood boil does not count for much... or else no more free speech.
