Ah, it is the 11th here - Armistice Day.
Lest we forget those who have fought and died in wars.
Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Very true. But history has a way of repeating itself. WWI, WWII.

We can and I think for the most part most humans do try to avoid wars. But sometimes you get hit in a way that needs a response to stop the punches from coming in.

It's the 10th here and as such it's the Marine Corps Birthday. I tend to get reflective during these two days. sorry. That and oddly enough, no one really says "lest we forget" in these parts unless it's pertaining to POWs, thus my question.

I'm pulling the bullshit card. show me those polls because the polls I hear on 3 different cable news stations and 4 public access newsradio stations disagree with your info.

I may give ya the leave within a year thing, because I've heard the sooner the better, but that's about it

Troll.. they are the Zogby polls that Cheney mis-stated (sp?). I will find you the link tomorrow.. believe it or not, I want to watch a movie tonight instead. biggrin

edit: will find the link.. but, to repeat myself, here's a quote off the NYTimes editorial page (for the link see my post on pg# 2 of this thread):

"Mr. Cheney claimed that Iraqis chose the U.S. as their model for democracy "hands down," and he and other officials say that a majority want American troops to stay at least another year. In fact, Mr. Zogby said, only 23 percent favor the U.S. democratic model, and 65 percent want the U.S. to leave in a year or less."

Straight from Mr. Zogby himself.. however, as quoted by the NYTimes..

What? who the hell said you could have a life in PA? I've been trying for years. But I am curious because the polls I I mentioned were quoted as being Zogby polls. Last one I recall mentioned 71% glad we're there with a high 50 something wanting us out in a year. But enjoy your movie. Unless it's a Sarandon flick in which case I doubt you could. haha Just playing with another thread.

Thank you for clarifying that fact for me , I guess it's just after watching all those Audie Murphy movies...i got the mistaken impression that it might be necessary to track down the enemy in Iraq and destroy them by any means necessary, but then again your right , perhaps holding their hands and kissing their asses is the way to go....silly me!

hey it might work maybe gay sex will end the war effort
maybe all the "hussein sympathizers" are just sexually repressed
and are hostile because of this i nominate racer x to lead a gay troupe
of soldiers to liberate the fuck out of the entrenched resistance biggrin

Wow...do you think I'm gay?

Tell ya what: You suck my dick ,and if I like it, maybe that makes me gay? hmmmm..

I'm tired of reading about death after death. Iraq can take care of itself now! If they don't give a shit about us there, let's come home. I supported our troops when they fought, now I support their RETURN.

NO MAS MUERTE!!!
frown 'mad'

Cant you imagine what would become of that country if we left it right now? How many people would be killed then?
