On top of THAT, it would be pretty pointless because if we impeached Bush we'd end up with Cheney. Back where we started, if you will.
Sorta. That really depends on whether the momentum (and testimony) that would come out of a Bush impeachment would be enough to get the ball rolling on Kucinich's move to impeach Cheney. Not likely though, since it's stuck in the judicial committee.
I don't think they would be able to fully complete an impeachment in 8 months.
Right. Especially not two simultaneously.
Besides, then the news cycles would be all "Bush this, Impeachment that, Cheney this" instead of "Obama has out-fundraised McCain by like Eleventy Billion to 1" and "Republicans are scared shitless" and "McCain forgets his wife's name, calls her "cunty" for short" for the next 5 months.

Not only that, but they're already starting to wrap up their session and clear out their stacks of remaining business. There may be 8 calendar months left, but there's even fewer than that on the congressional schedule remaining.
Yeah, about that... Um, the media won't report it on TV, just the internets. So much for the "liberal media", they collectively suck. Actually they've pretty much been sanitized of any reference to the Senate's report on the Bush Adminstration's abuse of false prewar intelligence as well. They don't want us to know that they knew it was an illegal war from the very beginning.

^Cable news channels -- CSpan and MSNBC -- have been covering this, but essentially it will go no further. This would stall every other act of government, and handicap the Democrats by making them look like partisan crybabies, and this would certainly cost every democrat their desired post come November...
