What's being completely wrong like? What I linked to has been removed. It did indeed say three had been killed. So, you're kind of sucking at pointing out sucking.

Wait...the article you linked to, and misquoted, was removed...so you just invent what it said...and "prove" me wrong? Nice.

well, it did. and then was changed. and then was removed. it wasn't an article, it was a photo and caption on Flickr. it can happen.

Welcome to the interwebs, Cash.

Still, not exactly a quality news source.

Again, I see Cash being obtuse when I would expect otherwise.

Is it really that hard to see people (the kind of people who think Obama is a "secret Muslim") making assumptions if the situation were, in fact, reversed?

I mean, it's not like we'd put a Canadian citizen in prison without checking--OH SHI

Right...except for the fact that that there WAS a link to an actual article...which contradicted the OP's information.

We're talking about the same country where people have said they won't vote for Barack Obama because he's a Muslim. America - land of the free, home of the stupid.

What?

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/22/us/politics/22jewish.html?sq=

Because of a dispute over moving the date of the state%u2019s primary, Mr. Obama and the other Democratic candidates did not campaign in Florida. In his absence, novel and exotic rumors about Mr. Obama have flourished. Among many older Jews, and some younger ones, as well, he has become a conduit for Jewish anxiety about Israel, Iran, anti-Semitism and race.

Mr. Obama is Arab, Jack Stern%u2019s friends told him in Aventura. (He%u2019s not.)

He is a part of Chicago%u2019s large Palestinian community, suspects Mindy Chotiner of Delray. (Wrong again.)

Mr. Wright is the godfather of Mr. Obama%u2019s children, asserted Violet Darling in Boca Raton. (No, he%u2019s not.)

Al Qaeda is backing him, said Helena Lefkowicz of Fort Lauderdale (Incorrect.)

It goes on...

I caught it yesterday on drunkcyclist As a former road racer, some dumbass hitting you on your bike, while driving his car is your biggest concern.
It doesn't matter if the person driving was an American or a Mexican legal or illegal. it was tragic. And I read in a mexican newspaper online that it was feared that three were dead, and if you saw the picture, which was gruesome .you would have guessed that there were more deaths than that.
And yes Lou Dobbs(elitst harvard grad) would of made a spectacle of this had it been a Mexican illegal or not. Dobbs would of played up that the mexican was spreading leprosy on his path to destabilizing the economy, and taking away jobs from Americans and lets not forget ,not contributing to the taxes that he uses when he comes to the emergency room.(Stock in case you read this and think I'm serious, I'M NOT)About the dobbs part that is

If a Mexican citizen were visiting America and the same thing happened, the Mexican would be tarred as an "illegal", and offered up as proof that those evil illegal Mexicans are violent animals. (Even though immigrants commit less crime than citizens.)

Coincidentally, recent Latino immigrants are generally healthier then Americans with similar socio-economic backgrounds (poor, undereducated and having limited to no access to health care). However, as a group, the longer Latinos remain in America, the greater their decline in health... Whilst the paradox remains true, no medical studies have been conducted to understand exactly what factors contribute to their overall health and subsequent decline. Theories include cultural differences, dietary health, and lifestyle changes that occur once they become accustomed to to American culture.

Says Dr David Hayes-Batista from the National Center for Health Statistics:

"The question should not be 'Why are Latino children doing so well in spite of high risk factors?' But instead, 'Why are non-Hispanic white children doing so poorly in spite of all their advantages?'"

Why indeed? The American model, winning over the world, one heart attack at a time. skull

[edit]And before some Operation Gatekeeper starts to read into this (by ignoring the shinier half of the coin before it got flipped), the RAND Corp. found that undocumented immigrants actually have little impact on public health care cost in this country.[/edit]

I don't need any YouTube videos, I can hear his dribble daily on CNN. His entire focus on illegal immigration is a false front for his anti-Latin American sentiment. He has perpetrated several lies on TV about illegal immigrants, specifically mischaracterizing those of Mexican, Central and South American descent, yet when faced with the facts over his mis-statements, he has refused to recant. His segments focus almost exclusively on immigrants from one direction, across the Southern U.S. border with Mexico, despite the fact that half the number of immigrants who enter this country aren't from Latin America at all. Furthermore, Dobb's bubbling support for border vigilantism further betrays any objectivity he may claim, if you look up any of these groups, you can clearly see that they are thinly veiled white supremacist hate groups. Again, he hasn't distanced himself from them or recanted his support despite being faced with these facts...

Sure the racism isn't painted across Lou's face, but his obsession with Latin Americans betrays what lies beneath the surface. Though racism may have gone "underground", what people clearly aren't seeing today is that the vitriol expressed by the "news" media and pundits is simply racism hooded beneath the hoods of innuendo and inference. I honestly think that people have just become either desensitized, ignorant of the fact, or purely complicit in the matter. I believe Lou Dobbs is knowingly complicit, despite his best efforts to suggest otherwise.

If you insist LSlice, well then, here you go:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Lou Dobbs' lies:

CNN using white supremacist sourced info and map...

Lou Dobbs, Racism & Reality (He refuses to hear SPLC argue their case, yet again...):

Now wait here just a ______ _______ minute...

Since he's such a pro on race issues...

Note that recruitment has gone up considerably among "white separatist" groups in the last 8 years, yet the media doesn't seem to think that's a very important issue. Instead, we get Lou.

In response to FellOnEarth:

Hmm. It does seem like he might use questionable sources, and presents a one-sided view of the issue.

However, I also think he's right that their is an effort to paint concerns over illegal immigration as being inherently motivated by racism, which is not necessarily the case.
