Family Health Insurance PPO = $13,992
Auto Insurance $3,720 (US only, unfair to include dual living situation)
Life Insurance (my wife and I) = $8,000
Long Term Care Insurance = $2,400
Fire and Home Insurance = $4,300
Riders for exceptions = ~$2,000

Total Insurance = $34,412 each year

While the amounts will vary based on age, value of property, and extent of coverage, these are the minimum policies anyone with a family should have to properly manage risk.

It's clear to me that many people cannot consider protecting themselves, their families, or their property to the extent recommended by most carriers. The alternatives; being forced to deal with a physical loss or the results of long term health problems, is also very ugly.

Thank God I don't have you for an agent...my insurance would be about my take home pay...maybe just pay everything I make to insurance and make my living expenses a claim?
