Not a chance in hell of Caroline Kennedy.

All of the VP choices in his contest on both sides will be individuals who have been elected to some office. Period.

Mark Warner? Tim Kaine? Sam Nunn?

If he wants "change" it will be a less experienced or western politician, but let's not dream too big here.

I agree. The one thing the Republicans will hammer all through the election will be experience. This would make it worse, not better.

My own favorite is Chris Dodd.

It's a tin foil hat plan for sure. Webb and Edwards are on my short list too.

Well, I hear it won't be anyone who ran on the ticket this year. Edwards ran before and "lost" (cough cough Ohio cough cough), ran again and lost... and they'll hold that against him.

Chris Dodd has taken some outspoken positions that make progressive liberals love him but he is an also ran, and won't get it.

Biden dropped out the day of the Iowa caucas with an announcement throwing his support to Barack. I'm thinking Secretary of State or some cabinet offer could go his way.

And yes, they do like Webb. smile

Barack said Bloomberg doesn't want the VP, but would consider a cabinet post.

Like this??

or this?

This is a cab, innit? whatever confused miao!!

I wish Joe Biden could know a pretty woman like you -- a member of the armed services no less, thinks that he is Hot. You know it'd make his day tongue

No, none at all. But it might be a good choice.

I wouldn't mind her so much; It's just that you have to take Bill with her.

That's a damn good question.

And if they do, why?

I'd be so disillusioned if Obama gave Clinton the VP spot, but at the same time, I'd understand the rationale behind it.

Which, of course, would only serve to disillusion me more.

Obama will offer Clinton the vice presidency and she will turn it down - that is the deal that has been made.

This sounds plausible to me. Except for maybe the "turn down" part.

Lady Bird Johnson was not Bill Clinton.

Consider this rationale for not offering her the VP -- it will make him look weak to bow to her after the treatment by the Clintons. I think they squandered that option when they began some of the more aggressive attacks.

I think Jim Webb is so near the top of the short list...

After managing to almost go the whole day without thinking about it, I had a sudden flash of insight. I think Obama should ask Michael Jordan to be his VP. Who wouldnt vote for an Obama/MJ ticket? biggrin
