Put a fork in Hillary, she's 'bout done. Tim Russert on MSNBC was right on the money when he stated last night, "We now know who the Democratic nominee is going to be, and no one is going to dispute it."

eh screwed up trying to comment. Ok, short I really don't think either Obama or Hillary are all that bad compared to what has been before. I was kinda fond of hillary from actually watching her speek in congress, not the bullshit campaign appeal to the redneck , appeal to the yo boy, appeal to the ellitist or oil baron or whatever the hell. No she actually had good ideas and spoke clearly. So I'm actually perfectly willing, hell short of fatal illness I will be there to vote for Obama if he wins the convention, I won't even be angry or even voting against McCain, I"ll be voting for someone I believe in, just not my first choice. I met with some Obama supporters this weekend. I really got the impression that they might go as far as just not to vote, but to shoot Hillary, "I hope that evil derisive bitch fucking chokes to death" Thats the kind of derisiveness that seems to have been sown in the Obama structure. Even though I like both and favor Hillary, I actually hope, no not hope pray Obama wins, cause I really just can't deal with McCain due to the unrealistic take the Obama campaign and folloers have taken. I don't think they would actually vote McCain out of shear spite, but I think they wouldn't come out to vote for Hillary because they are just so supremely hateful and angry and in my actual experience ready for violence. Just my two cents, Hillary should quit, cause Obama has sown too much Hate. On the other side, even the people I know who like Hillary and even sometimes hate Obama, everyone of them will be there to vote for Obama, not even a second thought. This is kinda I guess a cross poll a notice on what I thought the republicans were bullshitting about. I don't hate Obama, matter of fact on a personal level not a political level I like him alot more than Hillary. Though now I am really beginning to dislike those pro Obama, I just can't be associated with that kind of hate. I think it would eat me from the inside out.

If you look at the polls, Obama voters are actually more likely to vote for the opposing democratic candidate than Clinton voters. There are some who wouldn't transfer their support to another Democrat, however, and obviously you did encounter those people.

And yes, it's reasonable to fear that their zeal would not transfer with their vote, something John McCain has seen in voters who came from other candidates but didn't bring their checkbooks along for the ride, but I think that both candidates have done much better than McCain and therefore would have nothing to worry about with fundraising if they only saw money from their base and people who'll vote Democrat no matter what. Beyond that. it's just a matter of being exciting enough to get people to a voting booth one day out of the year, and that's a significantly lower aim than what both Dems have been doing up 'til now as both sought to get people excited about votes that, in some cases, don't even matter.

I just don't get the zeal thing of Hillary supporters. If you support a candidate who loses the party's nomination, and the choice is between voting for someone who won it with similar ideals or someone who has ideals diametrically opposed to your own, they would rather choose the candidate who least represents their own ideals out of spite for having lost a dick-measuring contest.

I can't find the exact blurb, but I was reading USA Today this morning and one of the opinion columns stated that the writer (a Hillary supporter) was going to vote for McCain because Hillary has been badmouthed and treated so poorly throughout the election. That's the stupidest fucking reason for voting for a candidate that I've ever heard. What do they think McCain would say about Hillary if she won the nomination? That's she's a swell lady with great ideas?

But I guess since their ideas are so similar (voting for wars, supporting gas bills and NAFTA) it doesn't really seem like so much of a logical stretch to see Hillary supporters switching over to McCain. She'll probably end up being the McCain's running mate.

Hehe, I' voted Hillary. I would hardly say I have Zeal for either, I would say I have a definite Zeal against McCain he really scares me. What I was commenting on was all the local and even nonlocal Obama supporters I know are down right violently angry. I mean just malicious and hateful if you say the "H" word. I am happy to hear what Hooradiation said about Obama supporters being willing to vote for Hillary, It makes me a bit less scared that McCain actually could win should Hillary win at convention, which I do highly doubt and I will be fine with not the least bit angry lol. I have my doubts that those for Obama I know would but a sampling of 20 or so people really hardly can speak for millions. Just scared the heck out of me. People I know get a crazy kinda look in their eye if you mention the "H" word. Nolan and many others bring these kind of debates to a heated anger smearfest. I bet Nolans probably a nice guy if you talked about anything else. I heard people talking about how Obama wasn't supposed to be a politician that way, a great deal of his supporters are though. I've watched peaceful normally happy people go from Hope to Hate. I guess politics normally goes that way, its kind of the evil beast that slays the soul of good people. I guess thats my little sad commentary on our democracy. When even the democrats get into hate mongering, what I thought was mostly a republican trait. I used to be proud to be a democrat. I used to believe in some of the people. I'll still vote democratic, I just don't know if I can be proud or have hope at this point. Which is another fear, I know I'm going to vote, but I wonder how many Dems aren't mo matter who is the Candidate. Getting people excited is the way to get the Dem vote out. I just don't see anything to get excited about anymore. I guess since I can't get into or in anyway support hate I really don't belong in this kind of a posting. LOL, I definitely am a silly one I should have realized that before the first post. Sorry all who read this. Continue the anger, I won't interject again, just if you can try not to let it consume you. We all lose when that happens, no matter who is elected.

I don't hate Hillary, and I don't hate people who support her. I would vote for her over McCain if it came down to it, but it's not going to. I just don't understand what can make a person have "zeal," that is fanatical to the point of almost being religious fervor, for a candidate in politics. I just don't get it. What could a politician possibly mean to an individual that they would turn against their own best interests in order to "avenge" her loss at the hands of all the rest of the people in the country?

That's just fucking stupid. It's not hate, it's not anger, it's bemusement at how anyone alive in this modern age who is educated well enough to care about what is happening in the political world can feel or behave in that way.

For all the people who just soundly feel that they like Hillary's policies better, more power to you, because you are entitled to your own opinion. But she's lost, and she's acting kind of wacky now.
