Sure, except that he lumped someone who has done nothing wrong in with a murderer and rapist while letting people who have done much crazier things in this category off scott free. It would be the same as if he called out Barack Obama's preacher for being racist without addressing a prominent Klansmen who was in the news (not that one is, just a hypothetical).
he's a comedian posting an opinion piece on a porn site, and you're questioning his ethics and adherence to political correctness?
They aren't contesting that he's a comedian.
They aren't contesting that it is an opinion piece.
There is a more sinister, underlying phobia that comes out in his op-ed writing.
*headdesk*
so...? is he somebody important? is it, in the grand scheme of things, really that important? for people to get so wrapped up in an insignificant stranger's opinion?
You have to be joking, right? Obviously, it's not that important. Neither are the 1,000 other CE threads you've posted in over the past week.
Really, "its just his opinion?" From you?
It's sort of funny to see that the person who is probably the most dedicated to posting in CE thinks it's retarded.

I get what you're saying, but they are only lumped in together in that he considers them both assholes. Does the fact that there are other assholes out there negate the fact that one particular person is an asshole? I think Bush is an asshole, should I not be able to call him one because there are other, bigger assholes out there? Of course not. It's a fallacious argument.
If the one time you choose to address an issue, you use as an example someone who is a) a lesser offender and b) part of a very marginalized group, it looks a whole lot like you are picking on them for being part of that group rather than legitimately addressing the issue.
I appreciate that you are replying to my posts with reasonable arguments instead of emotional invective, though.

Much better that I simply post a lolcat, right? Why analyze anything, especially humor.

That's a very bold statement. And not quite rational.

.
Only if you're the kind of person who takes an opinion that differs from their own as a personal attack.

Thanks, William, for saying it better than I could.

First time I've read AFF, brilliant . You now have a loyal reader. And to all you AFF that support the manchurian candidate, recognize your AFF status!!!
And this is why you shouldn't do drugs, kids.
It is humorous and thus enjoyable. Drugs are relative how? It is my intelligence that makes his writing so enjoyable. The foibles of others is always to my liking.

i only resort to exasperated humor when my attempts at maintaining a reasonable discussion with people - that i assume bear the temperament or rationality to reciprocate the expectation for mature discourse - fail despite my best efforts. sure, i started off sarcastically, but at least i made a mature endeavor. while i was at first interested in your views regarding the subect, i realized that you had little interest in discussing them with civility. but yes, thanks for your dismissive attitude. now, did you have anything to say other than an elaborate "your opinions, no matter how you articulate them, are not in absolute concurrence with mine, and therefore invalid and, quite frankly, vexing"? perhaps an actual critique of my point?
Someone is going to have to point out to me where I said that people couldn't have different opinions than my own or took anything as a personal attack.

his ignorance has already ignited a strong and intelligent discussion, more than enough to fill the void he provided. what more do you want? it's getting to the point now were we're past any progress and have, instead, moved on to petty bleating.
