Interesting that piracy has become so much more of a problem in Somalia than it is here. The Straits of Malacca used to be the world's worst-hit area.

I guess our government is doing something right, even if they are allowing terrorist leaders to escape.

Is it relative, though? Have you actually decreased piracy, or has it just increased a lot in Somalia? I know it's up there, given that the gov't has no navy and an Islamic insurgency on its hands.

Both things are true. Local numbers actually are down, since local countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia) have been conducting multi-national patrols for a few years now, and the Indian navy has also started contributing.
