Yeah. I have to admit I really wanted this to be true, because of an argument I had with a friend who moved to Ireland and became a citizen there. He kept saying America's a target of Islamic terrorism because of its foreign policy, and I said we'll see about that when Islamic terrorists start setting off bombs in Dublin. And then this story comes along and I thought "Aha! I was right!"

You hoped a terrorist incident was unfolding in Dublin just so you could be proven correct ... to spite a friend?

And yet it's the liberals who he always claims "want the terrorists to win."

What a hypocrite.

And what have we learned?

We have learned that when a a news story fits a preconceived narrative we want to believe, to be extra careful in confirming that it's true and to make sure the facts support the story, not to rely on the preconceived narrative.

I applaud you sir. Unlike many of the conservative "thinkers" around here (and, to sure, many of the liberal "thinkers") you are willing to admit an error in assumption. If more people would follow your example, rather than getting defensive, the CE boards would be a far friendlier place.

Yes, it's very daring to admit an error when the error is right there in the thing he linked to. Exactly how could he have not admitted an error here?

You can't claim to be beating the terrorists if the terrorist refuse to come out and play.

He's worse than a hypocrite, really, because the libruls actually DON'T want the terrorists to win.

Who does? I don't think even terrorists have any intention of "winning" anything. Unless you define victory as killing a bunch of innocent people in the name of your god or nation, and making people from the other end of the hate spectrum feel justified in their despisal of you.

Hmm...
