I'm sorry to see Edwards go. He continually injected discussion into the election of a great deal of substantive topics that were going otherwise unaddressed, and even as an Obama supporter I never bought into the claims that he was merely a spoiler in this race; the jury's still out, but I suspect that in the end Edwards drew support from relatively similar numbers of Clinton and Obama people.

I would love to see him and/or Richardson endorse before Super Tuesday, but we'll see. The scuttlebutt, for whatever it's worth, is that Obama may be considering Edwards for an Attorney General spot should he get the nomination, so a deal for a visible endorsement may be in the works between the camps.

I really really like the guy. I hope he gets/accepts that AttGen nom if things work out.

Good thing he did so before Super Tuesday. It will be interesting to see where his supporters will go. I think they will go to Obama, but the racism wild card could affect that. Or the misogyny wild card could affect it.

Oh, such a hard day for the misogynist/racist Democrat.

I kind of giggled a little bit at this.

McCain topped former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 36 percent to 31 percent in the hotly contested race.

Giuliani placed third with 15 percent of the vote, followed closely by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 14 percent, and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was fifth with 3 percent.

Giuliani is expected to end his White House bid and endorse McCain at a campaign event in California later Wednesday, Republican Party sources said.

He should just give up, too.

Right, look at W. Even "democracy" couldn't stop the man from his mandate.

Oh, I don't know. I'm hungry and grumpy so at the least it would have been snarky towards Dubya.

Edwards needs to endorse Obama before Tuesday. Tomorrow would be nice. The sooner, the better.

My guess is he's waiting until after Tuesday to see where the chips fall and max out his leverage.

The trouble with that is that it could just about be over after Tuesday.

True. It'd be nice if he made his choice for Obama before then to help him out for the voting.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be a "Well, I'll back you if you're the projected winner" or a "What'll you give me to back you?" deal. That'd just turn this whole thing into even more of a middle school act.

Exactly. Hillary has a good shot at cleaning house on Tuesday, and Obama needs all the help he can get right now.

I'm agreeing with bald_eagle here. His leverage is all about what happens Tuesday. My guess is both Obama and Clinton are going after his endorsement and he's looking at the offers. I don't see how his endorsement would matter more after Tuesday.

It will matter after Tuesday and I think he is waiting for offers.

There were rumours that Kerry did not pick edwards as first or even second choice runnin mate in 2004, and edwards never forgave kerry, and there was tension. Edwards was aligned with Obama a month ago but did things shift? I don't know...

I see him as slightly opportunistic...

Word is Obama has offered Edwards an Attorney General spot in his administration. I'd be genuinely surprised if Edwards endorses Clinton.

I'd be surprised if he endorsed Clinton, too. Although I suspect a number of his supporters are closer to her than Obama, I think he's closer to Obama. That said, remaining neutral is always an option...

Meanwhile, McCain and Romney are duking it out.

The original poster tends to, in the two times I´ve seen him post, create conspiracy theories. Like Hugo Chavez working for the CIA.
