Listening to NPR this morning, On Point reported that while there appeared to be a discrepancy at first glance, that a mathematician had kind of blown the idea out of the water. Evidently, the discrepancy was around 1%, and not statistically significant.
Listen to the podcast, if you like. It was the first half of the show, and pretty informative.
I would have like Obama to have won, but I guess I am happy that the system is honest for now.
Does NPR support Hillary or Obama for president?
It's a valid question you may want to ask.
Ah, the partisanship of news sources; its good to be back in the Gilded Age again
Seriously, and I can't believe i'm saying this (largely because my view of Kuchinich is hardly positive) but...good for him. If this really did happen, and he's willing to put his neck out to bring it to the public's attention....well, I just might have been wrong about him.

The reason he is asking for a recount is because the areas in which Diebold machines counted the votes, Hillary won desicevely. In the places where ballots were counted by hand, Obama won.
If that's true, then more power to him. Is there similar discrepancy in the Republican vote? It could after all be a coincidence.
No. It is only on the Democratic side.
Paultards want a recount because they believe he should've gotten third. But here's the best part, they won't request a recount because they think it would hurt his campaign.
As if anything he does or doesn't do will change the outcome of this campaign.
They were mad that votes were reported as "0" rather than "31"
Honestly, I think 0 is better than 31. Jesus christ
NPR goes out of their way to not let any personal feelings about parties or candidates show (and it'd be hard to nail down even if they didn't since all their shows are produced by different stations and different producers in different parts of the country). You'd be hard pressed to answer your question one way or another.
Also: podcasts. Many NPR shows have podcasts available. You should check them out, some of them are really good.
I admire the hell out of this guy. I wish he stood a better chance of getting elected. But I really don't see the point in this. Even if he does think there was tampering going on, it still seems like a strange move.

I think (hope) that is a "this won't help me, but personal is not what this is about. this is the best way for me to help the process" sort of thing. Kucinich always strikes me as someone who feels compelled to do the right thing.
Just three days after Tuesday's primary election, the New Hampshire Secretary of State's office says it will conduct a hand recount of the votes in both the Republican and Democratic primaries starting next Wednesday after receiving formal requests from two candidates this week.
On Friday, Albert Howard, an obscure candidate from Ann Arbor, Mich., who appeared on the Republican ballot and received 44 votes in the primary, hand-delivered his recount request and a down payment of $2,000 to the statehouse in Concord, N.H.
I don't know what Mr. Kucinich's reasons might be, but I'm guessing he's suggesting that any repetition of Florida 2000 (by anyone at all) will be met by demands of recounts until a definite count is arrived at.
Also, I would guess that he is less confident in the non-partisan nature of the Supreme Court than he was eight years ago.
The look on their faces when asked why they are changing procedure is blank and priceless.
I saw Bev Harris from BlackBoxVoting speak a few years ago (at DEFCON, where she challenged the audience to break the shit out of a Diebold machine and publish the findings) and was very impressed with her knowledge and her commitment.

Hasn't he pulled this shit before? Or was that Nader? I'm all for accuracy and all, but if you pull this shit with every election people are going to stop paying attention. Boy Who Cried Wolf anyone?
How much wolf-crying could be going on if you can't even remember who's crying?
