Yes, we should definitely believe the Pakistani government and their "conclusive" evidence.

Don't let it get to you. He uses nothing but patronizing sarcasm and also adores telling people that they need to "read a bit." You'll get used to it.

What weighs against the assassination being an al-Qa'eda operation is that it seemed to be more the result of luck than good planning. Ms Bhutto was only attack after she entered her armored SUV and stuck her head out of the sunroof.

Unfortunately I think this will turnout to have been an al-Qa'eda operation made possible by the willingness of Musharraf to offer any meaningful level of security to Bhutto.

The future of Pakistan is now in the hands of General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, the army, and the ISI. The wild cards are people vs the police vs the army, who and how many will accept Bhutto supporters blaming the US, and what if anything Nawaz Sharif can get out of this mess.

There are way more causes of the instability in the region than just Musharraf. While I don't agree with your policy of supporting him, I do realize that statements like "there's blood on our hands" is a little extreme.

Um.. what?

He said "our foreign policy" so I kept it as belonging to him when I was speaking to keep things shorter. It was intentional.
