Once a universal health care system is perfected, there probably will be a great increase in productivity because Americans will be working jobs that they really want to work, instead of putting up with corporate whoring just for the sake of health benefits.

Furthermore, corporations *might* start compensating employees better and actually treat them with respect instead of abusing them because they know that they'll put up with the abuse just for the sake of health benefits. Of course, golden parachutes will get bigger, too, but what else is new.

People talk about lifestyle choices and they certainly do have an influence on one's health; however, I believe once modern medicine is able to crack the human genome and start tailoring medicines to people with certain illnesses early on in their lives, the cost of medicine might drop dramatically.
