Wether right or wrong the tapes are gone. However does torture of Americans, the English, and other persons considered friends count. We all see their work "BEHEADINGS" on you tube, liveleak, ECT. Who cares what administration did what to whom, it's time to take care of OUR COUNTRY. A little waterboarding I call it a surfing accident!!

Right on! I don't care what any one says, it's time we start taking care of ourselves instead of worrying about what the rest of the world thinks. Oh, and it's time the far left stop looking for every reason in the world to impeach just because their spinless "team" or party didn't win for the second time in a row. Until the democratics can nominate some one that can put all the bullshit behind and grab a little sack the republicans are going to control the house again.

Awww, how cute! The little cro-magnon is operating a computer. Maybe now you can do a search of a little thing called the Constitution and figure out what all these pantywaist, "far left" people are whining about.

Chances are that the individuals being tourtured hated americans anyway (including those that are hoplessly defending them) and they would've jumped at the chance to take any of us out. A little waterboarding never killed anyone

"Chances are"? Do you have the ability to read minds? And do you realize that I-N-N-O-C-E-N-T people are being grabbed, taken to a darkened room, and tortured? But, with your logic, maybe those innocent people secretly hated America. Woo-hoo, GO TORTURE!

OH, and just so you know, waterboarding is not a sport. It's a method of tricking the brain into thinking it's drowning. Psychology 101: everything psychological is simultaneously biological. The brain thinks it, so the body starts gagging, and gasping for air the mind doesn't think is there. If one does it long enough, it can kill a person, just like any method of torture.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
We had a policy of genocide against the American Indian, we have slavery in our constitution, we rounded up and had our own version of concentration camps for people of Japanese descent, we black listed people and held hearings on Un-American activities, blacks were so segregated; it was our governments policy to just ignore them......that's just a few. Our past already proves that our government has been at times a totalitarian regime in the name of "national security"........even if the masses think it or something is wrong.
You all elected your Representatives and Senators who passed the Patriot Act(and repassed it) and signed most of your civil liberties away! These are the same people you are asking to Impeach the President.......sorry guys, not enough time to even do a full scale investigation before the elections overshadow it and bury it on page 20 in the lifestyle section!!!

Sadly all of that is true.
That doesn't mean that it is right or ok and the reason so many on this site are adamantly opposed to torture and they way our government does business is because of that kind of record.
Yes the world is cruel and the government is fucked but we try to make a difference. We have discourse and try to figure things out and we do not support torture and behavior along those lines. We try to bring to light those issues that are fucked and wrong and against the very laws we impose on other people.
I spent almost 10 years in the Army and the Geneva convention was beat into our head. We were expected to treat out prisoners better than we would be treated because we were Americans and we set the standard.
If you sit back and say the world is fucked and a bad place and other people get tortured so it is ok to torture and kill people. And if some innocents get in the way that is just a small price to pay. Well sir, you are then part of the problem and part of why things like what you have listed above have happened.
By what I have gathered from reading your posts fighting for civil rights would have been pointless because of what goes on in the world.
Remember, America is supposed to set the standard, to be the beacon that other countries follow, we are supposed to be #1. That means we don't torture people and we try to change shit when it is fucked up.

Well said.

Just to keep everyone on their high horse here.....every time you pump gas; you sanction torture! Every time you buy something from China; you sanction torture! Every time you buy clothes made from some sweatshop in a third word country; you sanction torture. The diamonds (gold too) your girlfriend or wife is wearing; helps sanction torture. Even some of the food you eat (especially fresh produce); you sanction torture! The list goes on and on. You all forget.......oh how you forget!!! These guys wanted to kill you and me (all of you, Muslim, non muslim, anyone who isn't in league with their beliefs) before our forces caught them.....and they still do! We all sit here behind our computer screens and bitch and moan.......but what are you really doing about things? Nothing!!! Because we are all sheep waiting for the Shepard to either let us out to pasture or slaughter us for dinner!!! Life might be precious, but life is cheap......how cheap you ask??? About 7 cents (USD).......that is the average cost of a bullet for a AK-47 (any AKM) or an M-16.

How did I miss this? Where can I buy Ammo for 7c a round, seriously I will drive there now if I can.

Hey, dude, I'm pretty sure the kaosmaker666 take on that is, bullets cost what they cost, and there's nothing you can do about it. What are you doing about it? You're sitting here talking about how much bullets cost on the Internets instead of doing something about it. This is the holy message of kaosmaker666, and there is no part of it that is at all illogical or poorly thought of.

surreal

But yeah, I haven't shot guns in literally decades and I knew bullets aren't that cheap. Not that the pricing of ammunition was necessarily the weak point in kaosmaker's argumentation.

Hope you had a nice Christmas. You should check under your tree, there should have been a box with a "From: Toku666" tag on it. It's some WHOOSH I thought you might like.

wink

(Alternately, check back through kaosmaker666's amazing rhetorical style and then bemoan the clumsy way in which I satirized it; it all depends on how self-deprecating you feel like being on this glorious Boxing Day.)

Many great points have been made through out this discussion. Believe what you want that is your right BUT, if you feel embarrassed to be an American do something about it. Renounce your American citizenship and I will buy you a first class, oneway, non refundable ticket to a Country of your choice. Iraq, Iran, Syria, or jordan. When you arrive don't forget to tell them, I am a political refugee...

You are an embarrassment to America and everything it stand for. Ironic, huh?

I'm confused. First he says country of your choice, then limits it to Iraq, Iran, Syria, or Jordan. I want more choices for places in which to hate freedom!

Can I hate freedom in Acapulco? I think I could do a good job of hating freedom from there.

If you're going to hate freedom, you might as well enjoy the weather.

I wonder if I can hate freedom with a nice rum based drink somewhere warm? That'd be good. wink

It's actually far easier to hate freedom in Jamaica than a lot of people realize.
