Since when were letters to the editor universally civilized? The letters to the editors page has always been about skirting the LCD in the best of times to yellow journalism in the worst of times. Is it at all realistic to think that in the heyday of the Hearst publishing empire that his magazines and newspapers were not all littered with the most egregious spear-carrying, corporatist porn, xenophobe "letters" to the editor you could imagine? I usually do make an effort to read all the threads before I post something, though I also remember skimming the 1st few pages because of the tendancy towards the over use of quotation with usually less then 5 word<5 sentences added on, at any rate Rafi did nail the point, I merely put a when, where and why GWB Bush would rather save a Turkey from a fire rather then humans from White Phosphorus, let alone lethal injection.....
