Also, Dianne Feinstein officially wins stupidest quote of the year;

"This an incident which, in my view, should not have happened," Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California, said Sunday after being briefed by Coast Guard officials.

No shit Senator.

To be fair, she's got a point.

Yeah... I just imagined that every person in that room must have done a collective eye-roll when she said that.

I just like how she qualified it with "in my view". Like there were other people out there who were like, "You know what the bay really needs? 60,000 gallons of crude dumped into it. Who's with me!?!"

All the GPS and the ability to set up a "Parallel Indexing line" on the radar, and the Cosco Busan "touches" (as the intrepid Cpn' Cota was kind enough to put it when he called in) the Bay Bridge.

Politicians will hem and haw, get photo op's and an investigation, and "Bridge Team Management" (BRM) will be blamed. Just like the Valdez and The Empress of the North. jmnsho

The ship was out bound from the Port of Oakland. You can see it happen at:

It would be insane I think to see them have that wrapped up all real fast. I read something in Am. gov. about how when there's a disaster that gets a lot of media attention that it gives the office of president lots of extra power temporarily but decreases popularity if it isn't handled quickly.

It's just one more sad thing in the world. Maybe it's always like this and I just wasn't really into the news and stuff before this year, but it seems like that lots of disasters have been happening lately.
