Oh it's not so bad, people really just assume everyone down here is a slack jawed racist yokel. I moved down here from NJ and it's quite peaceful in Atlanta. smile

Yeah , How weird is it that you haven't experienced much racism there ?
It's not so bad, . . . for a middle aged, white guntard. surreal

Oh and btw laust, you are already south of the Mason Dixon line. Though technically, I don't believe it ever extended that far west.

I LOVE revisionist history... "the holocaust never really happened"... "the Armenians were relocated for their own good"... "the KKK just rode around dressed like ghosts yelling boo." Hate to step on anybody's rose colored glasses but... the KKK from the begining initiated a terror campaign that included burning homes, hanging (and often setting on fire) men, raping women and shooting children... former slaves and white abolitionists as well. After being curtailed by Union troops, their activities became more clandestine. Until the civil rights movement and Justice Department interventions in the 1960's, the KKK still continued to inflict terror on southern African-Americans and civil rights advocates through punitive beatings, murders and firebombings.

They may be repackaged and developed new marketing stratagies, but hate is hate, ignorance is ignorance... and the embers of violence smolder not far beneath the surface of their inane rhetoric, awaiting an opportunity to flare up into the firestorm of a race war.

They are armed to the teeth and have longstanding trained militias.

They are a terrorist organization, pure and simple... and they should be treated as such.

Mind if I ask where you've gotten your information? I'm not asking to be snarky, I really would like to know. I've done a lot of research on the KKK (the group I chose) for my terrorism classes and I've found a lot of conflicting information. You seem so adamant about your condemnation that I'd like to know where you've gotten your information from, aside from the misguided ideals that are presented to us through current and recently passed actions of the KKK.

Again, genuine interest. My mind is open on this subject.

It didn't extend that far west. West of Pennsylvania the boundary between North and South became the Ohio River.

No. Piss off.
I didn't want to sell this stuff. It's only a job. I hate the Romans as much as anybody.
Shhhh. Shhhh. Shhh. Shh. Shhhh.
Schtum.
Are you sure?
Oh, dead sure. I hate the Romans already.
Listen. If you really wanted to join the P.F.J., you'd have to really hate the Romans.
I do!
Oh, yeah? How much?
A lot!
Right. You're in. Listen. The only people we hate more than the Romans are the fucking Judean People's Front.

Yeah yeah, I know. But last I heard Colorado was south of the Ohio River as well.
Though admittedly not part of " The South", which obviously was the relevant intended context.

So if I wanted to become Christian and be a Patriot I should join the Imperial Klans of America....interesting tongue

I have my great-grandfather's KKK membership card (nineteen-ought-two, Union County, Ohio). I keep it as a humble reminder that white folks have to answer for the bullshit perpetuated during the last 4-500 years. Even the Moms (she's 81) would defend great-grandpa Graeme's involvement and try to tell me that the KKK was just a "fraternal organization" like the Lions or Masons. But I'm with grandma Gabriel: she burned Graeme's robe once she found out it was in the house and told him she's leave if he ever went another meeting. He never did.

Interesting that it was my northern relavites for whom this was issue. My southern relatives never belonged to the KKK. And they were some of the original signers of the South Carolina Ordinance of Sucession. (Cool story: my northern and southern relatives fought on opposite sides at the Battle of Chickamauga.) Even today it seems like it is people in the midwest who are most succeptible to the KKK, militias, posse comitatus, et al.'s offer of the usual scapegoats for declining markets, falling prices, and the rise of multinational food companies.

Anyway, visit Morris Dees and learn how to rat out these people. They aren't just a joke: they are polluting our rural landscape and must be stopped.

A good book for further info.
