Wow, another tired, cliched jab at Texas. Who would have guessed?

Shouldn't have given the world George Bush. You now must live with eternal shame and ridicule.

California gave the world Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon and Governor Schwarzenegger. Glass houses, man, glass houses.

Benjamin Franklin (who is a one-year old as I'm writing this) once will say
"The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either."

Some of my favorite people are Texans (as well as some of my least favorite, come to think of it).

This probably would have been a more appropriate post for FTR to have responded to jpaul256 with:

I'm guessing he hits a few of those.

I know it's kind of cute, but I really hate this t-shirt. Like a lot. And I'm an Obama guy.

And it looks like there will be no justice for El Masri in Germany either.

The German government has said it will not pursue extradition requests for 13 CIA agents charged with kidnapping a German citizen and taking him to Afghanistan for interrogation and abuse. Relations with the US government, Berlin says, are more important.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but aren't there CIA agents wanted in Italy for doing the same thing? If so, it sure does say a lot about Germany if another western European nation is willing to charge CIA agents for kidnapping foreign nationals on their soil and they aren't. Besides, how fucking important are good relations with the US for the EU right now?

If you mean Dubya, he was born in Connecticut. Or are you saying he got stupid after moving to Texas?

They made him governor. Started the beast on its way.

The Italian indictments, for those interested in reading up on them.

I'm not surprised about the German decision, though. Merkel is pretty rightwing and pro-American, from all I've heard about her.

Few care to take the time to register to vote, inform themselves, and vote.
Without engaging in the process it is easy to 1) either take the child's car seat in the back, let big daddy Cheney drive, and blindly defend all actions of our govt.,
e.g. jpaul256 and we3_pirates' take on this...

I was being ironic, like good ol' Zarth pointed out, and I wasn't even being subtle about it! Come on, I said:

Why, if we don't waterboard as many non-terrorists as possible, then Osama bin Laden will kill us all!

I'll just chalk this up to the price a guy pays for using keyboards to express sarcasm.
