I'd say Palpatine is a much closer approximation of Cheney's personality. Considering Vader turned out good in the end, which I highly doubt Cheney will ever do.

Bill Moyers, for the record, is the second-best journalist in history, behind only the great Dr. Thompson. Moyers's conversation with Robert Bly this week was one of the most fascinating I've ever seen. (The censorship that was placed on Bly while he "extolled" on Bush is one of the best examples of the government's control-through-fear of the media that I've yet seen.)

Someday, when you grow up, all of this might make sense

Gosh, don't those Red States feel awfully good about themselves backing the policies of a man who would protect them from the evils of people like Matthew Sheppard and Teena Brandon?

Middle America deserves the middle finger for inflicting Bush, Cheney et al. on the rest of the world.

It's a brain drain. I wonder who's next to leave. I say less than a month till Condi Rice flips her shit in a meeting and quits on the spot.

I wonder if there is substance to the idea that some of these recent Administration resignations have something do with Cheney's boner over bombing Iran (besides Gonzo of course).

You read my mind. It looks like the international community is trying to prevent it from happening, but when has this administration ever cared about the rest of the world? I can't help being a little paranoid about the subject, but I think that a justification for war or casus belli may be in the works... Worst case scenario: 9/11 2.0 (so Bush can declare martial law and bring out his secret government), or more likely Gulf of Tonkin 2.0: U.S. warships "attacked" in the Persian Gulf or perhaps some other massive bombing attack in Iraq against U.S. troops. Yeah, I know I'm crazy, but we live in a crazy country during crazy times...

It just seems to me that the Bush administration is going to be in dire need of a smoke screen over it's total failure in Iraq. I believe the scenario goes something like this: Blame Iran, Bomb Iran, shake a leg to Afghanistan.

I'm going to go pinch a loaf in honor of Karl "Turd Blossom" Rove now.
