Well, this could go badly for Iraqis; that much is true. But I wonder what effect this little news tidbit would have on the upcoming American elections... "Hi, the third largest city in Iraq is about to be destroyed. What do you do?"

We don't need yet ANOTHER reason for our troops to be out there cleaning up Saddam's shitstorm. But it's so hard to ignore the facts. We would have to stay and fix the dam/clean up the mess for the next 10-20 years... and that is not going to sit well with people.
