So, yeah. What the fuck. I'm sorry, but this week's asshole thing wasn't really that much of a stretch. Making fun of people who sell things shaped like Jesus, Rudy Gulliani, the current PotUS, and Texas is about as racey and offensive as a Monica Lewinsky joke. Still funny if you do it right, but pretty well-worn territory. So it surprises me that someone would get all riled up and start mouthing off within the first couple posts.

I mean, don't you have a better thing to get your panties in a twist about? The Internet is a big place. FTR posts one of these things a week. It just doesn't add up to me. It seems like I'd save up my temper-tantrums for something really big - like asking your mom for a sweet new bike for Christmas or something. I dunno, I just don't get it.

Rudy's whole campaign hinges on the knee-jerk support-our-troops-ribbon crowd. And that crowd suddenly gives a fuck about firefighters. I mean sure firefighters were always heroes, but now they're not thankless heroes (unless you count thankfulness as being related to pay in any way). Rudy's got to keep pandering to that crowd. And getting in a war with the head of a firefighters union probably isn't a good move for him.
