Whew, I read that wrong at first. I thought this was the USO
Thank goodness it isn't- sure, USO is a bit hokey, but it's gotta be better than people handing out "Left Behind" video games.

I'm sorry, I didn't even read the article because I'm an ignorant asshole, but I had to comment on how amazing that title is.

Where's Head from KoRn in all this? How could they not include him?

See how unhappy he is?

Well, sigh...

They sound just like any other Christian group who's inclined to travel and preach. This is really nothing new. Their "what we believe" section is the same as anything you'd read on just about any, even the most moderate modern/evangelical/pentecostal/non-denominational church's website. So this is actually pretty boring news, though i like the title, as usual.

Something i have noticed is that evangelical groups of any religion tend to take advantage of war or any negative situation to introduce people to their faith, because they feel like their intended audience will be hungry for some kind of answers at best, or if they fear imminent death, they'll want absolution/redemption just in case (or as my one preacher calls it: "fire insurance"). Honestly i think that really cheapens faith, because i don't think that the majority of people in these situations believe much of anything, except that they can just barely skate by, in the event that their lives are ended suddenly. That or they "believe" out of fear and think that ritual will do something for them (kinda like that one dude with like 7 religious talismans around his neck and praying with all of them in "The Mummy"). I also think that religious groups of any stripe who cater to this fearful crowd do more harm than good for their own cause.

Which, of course, begs the question: where is Kirk Cameron in all of this? shocked

The package contains white socks, baby wipes and a video game called Left Behind: Eternal Forces. It's an awesome game in which born-again Christians try to convert or kill "non-believers." The born-again Christians are "raptured" up to heaven after doing an awesome job of killing people.

Every time I hear about a real-life occurrence that sounds like it would be a joke on The Simpsons, I don't know if I should laugh or punch myself in the head.

What, were you expecting Lee Carvello's Putting Challenge?

Level one is titled: "Putting from the rough with Kirk Cameron"
