Obama calls Hillary "Bush-Cheney lite."
One more thing that tips me toward Clinton! Bush-Cheney lite sounds like just about what we need. Clinton declares the epithet "silly," but I think that secretly she knows the comparison helps her in some quarters.

And Obama came out with that in the context of trying to justify what was in fact a major gaffe at the debate:

In South Carolina and during a visit to New Hampshire earlier in the day, Obama compared Clinton to Bush because, he said, she has said she will not have unconditional meetings with foreign enemies.

He told the College Democrats that her approach showed "stubbornness" and in New Hampshire he referred to her as "Bush-Cheney lite."
"Stubbornness"? As opposed to what? Giddy impetuousness?

Clinton's retort:

"I've been called a lot of things in my life but I've never been called George Bush or Dick Cheney certainly," she said. "We have to ask what's ever happened to the politics of hope?"
Oh, come on. He's overflowing with hope! Hope that Venezuela, Cuba, Syria and Iran will play nice. Hope that saying Clinton is like Bush will cause voters to recoil in horror...

Obama is blowing up on the launch pad and his steep decline in the polls reflects as much. The fascinating dynamic of Obama's cult of personality supporters who try to pretend he is anything but a neophyte on the national (let alone international) political scene displays their pathetic desperation.

I've given him more than enough chances in the past, and in his interactions with myself and others I've observed nothing in his comments but pure, gratuitous nastiness towards any target that presents itself.

I have nothing against Obama as I have previously stated very clearly in this thread. However, I do find it difficult to carry on a meaningful dialogue with people who try to deny the facts of the situation. Simply put, Obama is a bright and attractive candidate but he is very short on experience and I feel it is premature for him to be running for President. It is also quite instructive that member Zarth labels me a "troll" (code for "I don't have a good counter argument") yet it is he who is attempting to turn this thread into a personal attack on me. I certainly appreciate your more reasonable approach.

And because of this "throwing away your vote" bullshit, a two-party system is not a democracy.

This election is going to blow...because I think for the first time there isn't one candidate I can back with a straight face. At least with Kerry...he wasn't Bush.

This group of yahoos has nothing going for them. The only certainty is that I won't be voting for Obama OR Clinton. So...I hope somebody comes along that I can feel good about voting for.
