The times I use my smartphone on speakerphone are when I'm driving and when I need to use the PDA functionality while I'm talking. It's hard to look up someone's phone number, a part number or my service call notes with my ear to the receiver. These situations happen fairly often.
i see this shit all the time here...in dc and richmond as well. i dont really understand it. alot of ghetto people do it. by ghetto i mean the same people who turn their bass all the way up in their cars with all of the windows down and its so loud that your own car starts to shake. i'm guessing they're both the same kind of attention grabbing techniques

Indeed.
I guess there's some revenge to be had on the bass-holes; they will have evil self-inflicted tinnitus for decades.

I went hiking in Muir Woods and saw more than one dude hiking with the bluetooth headsets on their ears. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Phew! Oh man!
I used to work at Samuel P. Taylor in Lagunitas, and once I had, at the request of other patrons of the park, to go tell some guy in the day use area to turn his stereo down. I honestly don't know why such people go to the trouble of driving out to the woods if they're going to do things like that.
