Are there problems with Los Angeles' aging infrastructure? Sure. Is it any worse than in any other major American city with aging infrastructure? Not really. Is it "whistleblowing" by any honest definition of the term? Only in the most broad, general sense of the term, and even then it's a stretch, because they're not coming forward and attaching their names to their claims.
Seriously, Bean? Whistleblowing comes in all forms. Being a hair splitting bitch only comes in one.

You mean the point i was making when I said, "How's your city's infrastructure in the first post? Thanks for clearing up what i already said.
Yeah, I guess we're pretty much in agreement about the scope of the problem then, though we may differ about how urgent it is.
The blaze lasted just thirty minutes, but it did approximately fifty thousand dollars in damage
I lol'd.
You should seriously come up here and have conversations with some of these "Cleveland is the best" people. They fail to see the obvious!
ProCleve: Cleveland is the best place ever! Me: We caught a river on fire. ProCleve: Oh it wasn't that bad, it was a long time ago. Me: we caught a river on fire. ProCleve: Why do you keep harping on that? Me: We caught, what most other major metropolitan cities put fires OUT with, on fire. That statement alone says something about Cleveland and how ass backwards it is. Not only did we do it once, we did it 9 times! ProCleve: The river is much cleaner now! Me: You want to go for a swim? ProCleve: uhm. i have to go.
Most industrial cities near water sources have had similar fires.
The river caught on fire several times over the years. It wasn't remarked upon when it happened before, because it was a sign of prosperity; industry was doing well enough that the residue caused flame ups. You pointed out that it's happened repeatedly, but it wasn't an uncommon thing. Not until Cleveland was becoming a punching bag did it turn into a punchline.
