he shouldn't have his picture in uniform and make comments about the commander and chief

You mean Bush is commander and chief?

Holy fuck! Isn't there something known as the Separation of Powers to stop this madness?

Australia's Head of State is Queen Elizabeth II.
at least we elect our head of state

This deals with the issue of your ignorance about your Commander-In-Chief, how, exactly?

you are a subject of the queen.what do you know about being a member of the united states armed force and serving under the commander and chief

You really don't know what the title is do you ?

oh my, you are crying aren't you?
Look you were repeatedly corrected about it and continued to put "and Chief" . I'm not sure it you can plead typo after you do it 6 times and insist on using "and Chief".

Whats up with that ?

Anyways. Aldous, although I'm not sure how applicable the link to Hitler you've drawn is, (I think there may be some truth to it, although it'd be circumstantial at best) but you (and I'd assume everybody else) might find this interview interesting. I've seen these kind of reports before, trying to study Bush's psychology, and I've always found their conclusions at least mildly frightening.

My wife is a psychologist and she has told me some pretty disturbing this about what many psychologists think about Bush. He's a scary dude. Apparently much of it has to do with him seeing his younger sister die of cancer when he was a child.

I read this and found it very interesting and enlightening. Things are always much better after a couple(dozen) beers.

I think the saddest thing about our current administration is that they have good intentions and probably think that they are doing the right thing. They probably use the excuse we are doing what is necessary for the good of our country. If you look at Dubyah as a religious man, which he is, he is making the right choices based on his religion, and he probably thinks he is helping our country with his decisions. Adolph Hitler was the same way, his overwhelming fear of the Bolshevists and their possible conquest of Germany was his excuse for the radical and sickening things that happened while he was in power. The sad thing about it is the potential that both of these men had, as we can see from history Adolph was one of the most capable rulers at manipulating his peoples emotions and utilize propaganda. He also brought out a period of economic wealth and prosperity. He was essentially trying to save Germany and in his misguided if not insane fear and ambition he ended up damning them to the fate he feared most. Dubyah, has massive political ties and allies he could have drawn on to change our country for the better. He could have revolutionized our foreign policy and endeared many nations to us, including Russia. Instead we see the beginnings of the downward spiral that Hitler went through that brought Germany to its knees. Examples, over extended military with future conflicts forming, restriction of rights for certain minorities in the country and radical changes in the political structure. Dubyah is not Hitler but he is making some of the same choices, will America end the same as 1930's Germany? frown

Uniform Code of Military Justice) Article 134 also known as the Disloyal statements provision of the UCMJ is an article of military law in the United States that provides for penalties by court-martial for "disloyal" statements made "with the intent to promote disloyalty or disaffection toward the United States by any member of the armed forces or to interfere with or impair the loyalty to the United States or good order and discipline of any member of the armed forces."

This article appears to limit the freedom of speech guaranteed to all Americans under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution as it appears to prevent someone in the military from expressing their opinions about issues that should be discussed in public, though some state that the right of free speech is reserved to an individual member of the military while "out of uniform" and this law recognizes limitations that an individual faces when voicing opinions during military operations.

Members of the United States military are in a peculiar situation of having protections under the first amendment and swearing to follow the President's orders. Thus, although a military member may vote for whom ever he/she wishes, the member may not actively campaign against (or for) the president. Additionally, disloyal statements would erode the overall strength and resolve of the military as a whole.

As I have stated many times in these threads, I am cool with almost anything, but you are now threatening another member with his career. I will request that proper action be taken against you.

The sad thing is he will claimed he was kicked off of the site because of his right wing viewpoints.

This is the part of the Bush administration that bothers me the most (and there is much to be bothered by) because this affects the next decade plus. I can only hope history views this administration and time period as the darkest and lowest point in American history. Only because it is!
