... at least, that's what I told my parents when they saw the main page up on Firefox when I was running to the bathroom.
Yeah, same when I broke my collarbone and my boss came round to see if I was OK...

Give a few bucks to the EFF if you care about electronic civil liberties. Please! Honestly, don't buy an iPhone if you don't want to support the devil (AT&T), but the only way we're really going to change the (evil, fucked up) way they do business is to put the hurt on them, $$$-wise.
AT&T is back to Ma-Bell status. They set the precedent. If they let the government spy on us, the other telecoms will too. If they tell the government to fuck off, the others will too (eventually).
and i work for AT&T and have worked in a central office.. and i gotta tell you, that they are strict about privacy.. if i got caught eve's dropping on any conversation i could be wrote up and possibly terminated.. and actually before the SBC/AT&T merger, they actually fought the powers that be when they tried to track people downloading music.. i know the iphone sucks only being on one carrier but there's other exclusive phones on other carriers as well..

I'm still at a loss to figure out how eliminating race as a factor in assigning students to schools is a bad thing, especially as it pertained to the two cases decided on Thursday. Please elaborate, thank you.
I believe that would be on the grounds that : you can't combat continuing educational inequality by pretending it doesn't exist.
And diverting funds to bus students is better than, say, buying books? Come on, let's make everyone's school better, rather than bussing those porr children at 4:30 am...

Umm, to my knowledge, neither of these cases involved busing, forced or otherwise. IIRC, they both related to attempts by school districts to ensure that their student bodies reflected the makeup of the districts' populations.
And there are other factors in educational quality than buying books.
