So the fuck what. He's against them, your for them. Why does your argument somehow hold greater sway than his.
Because he is advocating the use of legal force to make me and others stop. If you allow him to use this force when does it stop.
Should one religion be allowed to use force to make people of other religions behave in the way they dictate?
Should people be allowed to use force to dictate to others what they do for recreation so long as they do not harm others. Well the US government and a lot of others think so as they dictate the drug war, but I hold that use of force to make others conform to your ideals when they have done nothing to you is wrong.
Get it now?
Seriously, you are a lunatic.
He is not "advocating the use of legal force to make (you) and others stop." He is, in fact, quoting a TV show. In the one single post you have likely ever seen him make. Which tells you not one fucking thing about what he wants the government to force you to do.
The advocation of changing the law to make something illegal is necessaraly advocating the use of force to make people comply with this law after it is enacted.
This is fact not subject to rational argument.
He is indeed advocating stronger gun control as is the TV program he quotes.
Let's start with #2 first.
It's not an ad hominem argument, since I never said your claim was faulty because of some irrelevant fault in you. I said your claim about what Moneyshot29 did or did not advocate (in his post which you so thoughtfully snipped out of this reply) is faulty because he didn't actually say anything about what he advocated. And since that's his only post in this thread, you had no basis to make such an assumption.
Speaking of logical fallacies, I believe you'll discover that one is known as a Straw Man argument.
He was quoting a fictional character in a TV show. A character who may have been in favor of tighter gun control, but who, if I remember correctly, was taken to task for making the very argument quoted. By characters you would likely consider to be Liberals.
Neither Moneyshot29 nor the quote he posted indicated any intent to use force to take away your guns. Nor did the show the quote came from. Your belief that it did, and your overreaction to it, led me to have some concern for your reasoning faculties.
Which leads to #1. I'm sorry that you feel that was a personal attack. Feel free to flag it.
