i don't know, this "corrupter of the world" thing sounds pretty serious. i mean, i am part of the world, and i certainly don't want to be corrupted. i think we should all be thanking iran for taking a stand against the porn industry.

Wow. These Iranians are so misunderstood, someone get a liberal on here to remind me how I should respect their culture.

What I don't get is why people who would like to do things like this don't move to countries that aren't ruled by Islamic fundamentalists.

If I really wanted to smoke pot in the streets and have decent health care I wouldn't stay in America.

There is the whole question of actually.....um.....getting out.

Especially if you do not possess the "almighty penis"

Sounds along the same lines of "well then why didn't the slaves just go back to Africa??"

Slaps forehead

While it may be difficult to leave the country I would think it a bit off to compare this to slaves going back to Africa. There is other land around Iran... the lovely Turkmenistan for instance... it's not as easy to swim across the Atlantic!

But along with there being other land countries around Iran, there are cops with guns and guys who basically just wanna kill you cause you know, you're a woman, and where the hell is your husband to escort you around here anyway??

You're right, maybe it isn't right to compare it to African slaves in the states.......maybe it fits better in the Jews trying to get the fuck out of Germany category. There are, after all, other land countries around Germany. *shrugs*

I hear that Najafabad is the Chatsworth of the Muslim world. This is really going to put a damper on the thriving Muslim porn industry there.

You don't have to pass laws when you want to kill people you don't like. Just be a fascist dictatorship! Unless you are afraid of pissing off the civilians. So the fact that the US has some pretty sensitive, grousing citizens should be a good thing. Do you hear that conservatives? It's a good thing! Unlike in Iran which must have some pretty asexual, or despairingly tight-lipped citizens, if they can tolerate all of the institutional voted-in porn star, adulterer, homosexual killings. If it weren't for liberals the bar would be set low enough for tons of institutionalized social crimes to occur in America too.

It's legal to get a sex-change there by the way, just not to be gay. Weird pre-civilized humans.

That's because they view gender dysmorphia as the soul being assigned to the wrong body, and there's nothing in the Koran to forbid it. But apparently sharia law states that being gay is supposed be punished being 'stoned to death, dropped from the highest point or cut in half with a sword'.

The people in charge of the Iranian theocracy really are a bunch of fecking nutters.

Also, this woman would be able to claim asylum in England (or Europe), if she managed to get out of Iran. She should really start trying to do that.

From what I understand it isn't quite as bad as the trickle of negative media from Iran would have you believe. Not to say women there enjoy immense freedoms but I believe they are free to come and go as long as no laws are being broken. I am not sure what it would take to actually move from the country, maybe there is an Iranian woman around here who can shed some light on this?

I work for what could loosely be termed Canadian Immigration.
Iranians are free to leave and re-enter their country as they wish.
(Assuming they can afford to)
Present government aside, Iran is very, very far from "uncivilized". Let's not forget this country has a history prior to
1978-79

So has Iran starting executing people for being women yet?

Despite it's faults, it's times like this that I'm glad I'm living in America.

Yes, thank you! I feel people get a little carried away with the news selected by the major networks.

It would be just as easy for foreign news organizations to paint America as a land full of inbred rednecks who train pit bulls to kill children... the children they have not sold on EBay yet that is...
