"Nobody is going to care about these things like you do," I thought. "Just keep it to yourself."
Maybe not, but everyone has been back to their old haunt and had that nostalgic feeling.
Great story, Wil. You've finally talked me into reading your books.
That's brutal man. I remember watching the series end and it killed me. You guys were one of my favorites for sure. I remember running home to see the episode after the Borg destroys all the starfleet ships for the first time. Memories my friend, thank you for the good memories.

My greatest regret, which I voiced in Just a Geek, is that I didn't fully appreciate every single one of those hours when I was a teenager. I know it was just me acting my age, but that doesn't make me any less sad that I missed out on them, when they were right there in front of me for the taking.
No one ever does. I did that when I was in school, and I still do it today. I almost think it's human nature to let life slip by without notice. We're crammed with so much stuff that we never see the world around us until its too late, and all of those moments that should have been seized and appreciated are just memories.
Almost speechless, I had a lump in my throat reading that and a watery eye. Thanks for sharing with us. Hehe I remember being smitten with you as a kid, my Dad is a pretty hardcore trekkie and TNG was one show I didnt actually mind watching with him. I think I still have TNG chip cards LOL ...ok I know I do....
Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers.
Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.
These articles were great, man. They're really well written and carry a great feeling of nostalgia and sadness. Last month I saw a picture in Geek magazine of demolished pieces of the bridge laying in a heap. My friend and I both saw the photo and agreed that it was an incredibly sad image.
With your articles and that photo, it's really struck me how much TNG meant to me when I was younger. It was the first show I really got into and watched from pilot to finale. It was the show we all watched as a family at my house and when it went into syndication, my brother and I literally watched it every night.
Thanks for writing those, it was a good ride. I think I'm going to have to go get your book now.
i think we've got a solid group going here guys... now we just have to weasel wil into it. haha.
I will so fly there for that! ST:TNG is the bomb!
I will host the party at mi-casa - I do provide all the beverages. I have the 50" plasma downstairs and the 102" projector upstairs, with a nice upscale dvd and all 7 seasons ready to go - just name the date. Oh, did I mention that I would cater it as well (my parties are a little wild sometimes).
