You all seem to be intelligent individuals so I am curious, what are the pros and cons of liberals and conservatives. I honestly am undecided on my political views... Well kind of.

The pros and cons kinda depend on whether you're liberal or conservative. You seem to be looking for some answers, so I might suggest asking a more specific question. The way it's left now is really wide-open.

Don't listen to him, listen to me. Conservatives are best. I know this to be true because if you ask a Conservative which is best, he'll tell you Conservatives are the best and Liberals are wishy-washy fools, whereas if you ask a Liberal, they'll respond with a bunch of wishy-washy foolishness about how "it depends."

the cons of being a conservative:

you arent funny. not even at last call.
your hair part looks funny.
youre getting fatter every year, but you cant seem to follow through on that gym membership
you will always be lame.

the cons of being a liberal

the invisible hand is in the sky, waiting to smash you like a 'squito
even if you dont want to you have to watch your fiber intake.
your elected representatives are all pussies.
you will always be poor.

You really believe that? I know way more rich liberals than I do "poor" ones.

To add to the confusion, I'm economically conservative and socially liberal, I want less government involvement in generally all areas and generally subscribe to libertarian ideals. What does that make me?

You know how there are more directions to go than just plain left or right or up or down when you move through the space around you? You should look into that.

The funny thing is, the question is a false dichotomy. The definition of a conservative is something like "acting to preserve the status quo," while the definition of liberal is "support of individual freedom." If you believe the status quo already is individual freedom, then it makes sense to be a "liberal conservative." Also, in many parts of the world such as Australia and France, the word liberal is more associated with the right than the left.

I'm kind of stuck in the middle when it comes to politics, and although I like having a fairly diverse view, it sucks ass when trying to decide on a lot of things.

Much to my family's chagrin, I lean pretty far to the left on a lot stuff. Amazingly, I'm the liberal around here.

I'm kind of a bleeding heart/ conservative bitch. Depends on the issue.

In Australia, one of the major parties is the Liberal Party (their leader is currently Prime Minister), and they are conservative.

But to the extent there's a distinction worth noting, it's that capital-L Liberal means conservatism derived from "classical liberalism", while small-l liberalism tends to suggest similar sorts of things as it does in the USA.

No kidding. biggrin

Granted, I'll probably never be fabulously wealthy with a mansion in Beverly Hills, but that's not the kind of lifestyle I'm interested in anyway.

Agreed. I hate when people feel like they have to blindly agree with every single tenet of a particular party.
